ek0 got a reaction from Ngoramto in Reduced player benefits - Why HR codes as well?
Ive noticed multiple crypto based business are moving into a defensive mode and reducing benefits and promotions. The timing of this and the pullback of the crypto market from highs and these changes seem to be more than coincidental imho.
1. Gold Coins were nerfed on Stake.us
2. There is a drastic reduction of HR codes compared to November 2024 etc.
3. Weekly, Monthly, and Post Monthly bonus all seem to have been reduced as they are much less than the average that I tend to receive for a given week/months playthrough and profit/loss.
As Stake takes steps to reduce expenses and increase profitability by taking it directly from players via the three methods above and possibly more. I cannot express how hyper frustrating it is to know that Stake will burn revenue on Kick website (everyone knows Streaming sites are unprofitable) but cannot afford to treat its more serious players to an experience that is at all competitive with brick and mortar casinos. Not sure the bonuses are better than other sites now. A brick and mortar casino will offer free rooms, free food/drink, gift cards, free play, free tickets, and etc.
Research shows that even online casinos generally have 4%-18% doing 80% of the gambling activity. Lets assume that translates into high rollers bring in the majority of revenue, how can you punish the clients that keep cash flow moving? The fact that Stake thinks having more than one $50 HR code per week is too much but can use player losses on Kick.com is making me see red right now.
I am not a dumb hoe that is unable to recognize what is happening. Please rethink these changes.

ek0 got a reaction from Gamechanger1010 in Stake Poker - Rake higher than brick and mortar casino?...
I live in California and I play live at a brick and mortar with $5.00 drop and $1.00 for bad beat jackpot. How does Stake charge more rake than a casino paying for employees to deal? Also this casino provides surprisingly tasty food and non alcoholic drinks for free (if you play $2/$3 or >), in addition to rake back via points per hour that can be used on tournament entries or food/drink.
I tried opening at $2/$5 table and only one person sat down. We played heads up for 30 minutes, realized that my opponents stack was the buy-in max and I was down $150 due to rake, otherwise we would have been even. I never thought that Poker might have the greatest house edge on Stake!?!? You punished me for opening a new table and accepting to play heads up. At the minimum you should make the rake/drop scale up from 2 players, 3 players ($1, 2 players, $2, 3 players and etc until max) Don't punish people for opening new tables?... How can you justify having rake higher than physical local Los Angeles card room?
Changes to the rake were made relatively recently. If these changes were intentional and not done by someone oblivious as to how poker works then Stake doesn't actually want poker players? You want super recreational players, who don't know better, to join and get slowly ground out to your benefit?... I hope this was a mistake and will be corrected because from a business perspective the changes are short sighted, the opposite of a plan for growth, and not a long-term revenue stream.
