On Halloween night, 2025, the lights of the Stake Casino flickered as the storm outside howled like a dying thing. A man named Carter entered, drenched and desperate. He’d lost everything that year—except his hunger for one more chance.
At an empty roulette table sat a dealer no one else could see: a tall figure in a black suit, face hidden beneath a skull mask. “One final bet,” the dealer whispered. “Win, and your luck returns. Lose… and I collect.”
Carter laughed nervously, placed his last chip on red, and spun the wheel. The ball clicked, slowed, and landed on black.
The lights went out.
When they came back, the table was empty—except for a single pumpkin chip carved with a screaming face.
