My name is Esttefanía. What happened in my house went on for a month.
At first it was just noises — light switches clicking by themselves, doors left open by morning, the couch moved to a different spot. I blamed stress, until one night I noticed something that made no sense: the necklace I wore every single day — a birthday gift — was gone from my neck. It had vanished without me taking it off.
The house kept shifting: sounds on the roof, footsteps behind a closed door, objects appearing in new places. I stopped sleeping; I just waited.
In the third week, something happened that I cannot rationalize. I was in the shower, water running, when something hit the floor of the tub. I looked down: it was the necklace, dropping from above as if someone invisible had just thrown it in front of me. It didn’t slide — it fell.
I had no time to process it. The next day, while I was sitting in the kitchen, a cold voice right at my ear spoke my name slowly:
