I lost a bunch of my monthly profit once because I bet on a team I actually hated just because the odds looked nice. Now I always remind myself if I wouldn't root for them I shouldn't put money on them either.

Chasing losses with bigger bets never ends well, took me way too long to actually stop doing that. Do you track your bets now or is it all still from memory?

My biggest one was realizing that in play betting on tennis is a completely different beast than pre match, I got cooked once when a heavy favorite dropped the first set and the live odds swung wildly but he still came back and won. Now I only mess with live tennis if I actually watched the first few games instead of just jumping on a number that looks too good.
