Bank of Canada Study Finds 58% of Canadians Own BTC for Investment Purposes

The study is an update to the results of the Bitcoin Omnibus Survey (BTCOS) conducted by Canada’s central bank within a short period between December 12 to 15, 2017, a few days before Bitcoin reached its all-time high of 20,000 on December 17.

According to the survey results, Canadians have mainly used the major cryptocurrency for investment purposes in 2017, rather than for transactions, which previously had been cited as the main reason for dealing with Bitcoin in 2016.

So the most canadians use bitcoin for investment purposes not for spending and so..  i mean me personally i use btc for spending and buying stuff and hopefully there is still some left for the big boom if it goes high.. what do you do with your BTC ????  use for everyday buying or for just gambling or do u have it for like an investment.. ?????

That would be nice, and while that is what the headline suggests it is NOT what the article says.  58% of Canadians who own crypto do so for investment, not 58% own crypto.  It does have a nice array of reasons why people own it, my friends own Bitcoin was my favorite.  Sadly, the article does not say what % of Canadians are estimated to own Crypto, that would be helpful data.

I know lol. I wrote it in a short word.  Also bitcoin is an investment always remeber that.

Actually this change in reason for why Canadians own Bitcoin makes a lot of sense.  Given the huge run up in the Bitcoin price over the last year you would expect most people entering the market do be doing so for investment purposes rather than revolting against banks or central government.
