DreamStage Posted September 14, 2017 #4 Posted September 14, 2017 It's probabily due to China's new government upcoming rule on disabling BTC for real life transactions.

Kargai Posted September 14, 2017 #6 Posted September 14, 2017 - China announcements around the bitcoin - JP Morgan boss calling Bitcoin a fraud https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/sep/13/bitcoin-fraud-jp-morgan-cryptocurrency-drug-dealers + an eventual new fork of BTC in november. Just some people scared by that and selling their BTC (and traders who take advantages of the situation of course) => price drop. When BTC drop lots of alt drops too, part of the market follow.

wilberthh Posted September 15, 2017 #8 Posted September 15, 2017 100% its because of China. China holds estimated of 33% or more of all bitcoins around the world if I'm not mistaken. Also China's government already banned bitcoins trading which lead to the bitcoins prices dropping.
Kargai Posted September 15, 2017 #9 Posted September 15, 2017 Around 2000$-2400$ possibly. 1 hour ago, wilberthh said: 100% its because of China. Not true. The JP Morgan bluff count too, Wall street partly follow. China & Wall street are just killing the price to buy more BTC for themselves China hold a lot of BTC indeed, what's the point to killing it? Quite the opposite in fact. They just try to blind the people who doubt the BTC.
ktfor57 Posted September 15, 2017 #10 Posted September 15, 2017 China holds a lot of bitcoins and the Shangai based BTC exchanged had announced to cease its trading facility from 30th september. So basically it is the fear of uncertainity

Apart from China whole world is there into bitcoins, so this realization should build confidence in bitcoin traders, investors and minors to elevate the price again. Moreover a correction in the price is justified considering the fast rise in price.

cryptofly Posted December 28, 2019 #17 Posted December 28, 2019 Is funny how is always China above the news when talking about Bitcoin going down. Maybe is not a "country" issue but is most as lack of activity among the "bitcoiners" when we are not going outside and promote correctly and make slow the mass adoption. I do think that we all have to make our "job" by going out and promote the use of bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies, we all should be doing that so we can make sure that bitcoins doesnt go dawn and people can call it a scam or bubble. My opinion. Good luck.
hector12 Posted December 28, 2019 #18 Posted December 28, 2019 It is really hard to know why it goes down and up when demand increases then price goes up
