There is no strategy, other than balancing winning odds with your bankroll. The higher the potential payoff, the more buffer you need

I do 10 pump auto on hard/medium depending on size of wager. Sometimes even extreme but lower the pump amount lol

I play it on hard with max pump 5 and havnt havnt ever gone negative on net gain but rather stayed pretty even

Basically find any limbo strategy on YT and try it on Pump. The concept is pretty much the same.

Pro strat, dont play it. Its completely stupid it has payout levels of multiple originals games just mixed into one game. Pure laziness on stake

The odds in Pump are within 1% of Limbo or Dice. But the play action even on auto with animations disabled is somewhat slower than limbo and much slower than dice, so if you are aiming for a particular cash-out multiplier you may want to just stick to Limbo as that is effectively what Pump is when set to auto.

sell ur car and pump. thats the only winning strategy until u lose your car. u may have   1 or 2 good months but eventually yoill lose yojur car.
