For my winnings, do I have to pay tax to my government if I decide to cash out?

I know that for some other casinos like ninjacasino, speedycasino, leovegas the winnings are tax-free. I am wondering if it's the law here.

It depend in which country you are living, some have already laws about crypto earnings while others don't. All have different ways to consider cryptos. And for now there is no really a way for them to know what you transfer to your own wallet so it really depend if you want to go all in by the book or just wait until there is official laws where you are & co.

Well I do live in Sweden. But there any some other casinos where it's tax free. Can someone please clarify if it's tax free for stake.com?

I know these as tax-free:

Ninjacasino.com

Leovegas.com

Speedycasino.com

As far as I know, it is your responsibility to disclose your winnings to your government.

Different countries have different policies on gambling winnings, some countries exempt it, others tax it fully.

Best to find out from your tax-collection service :)

These casinos cannot decide what is and is not tax free. It varies depending on your jurisdiction.

Sorry to say, but these casinos are falsely claiming that winnings are tax free :(

Actually they are not claiming it's tax free as a lie. As long as you're a certified gambling company, you don't have to pay tax in Sweden. I am wondering if it's the same here.

Well, in that case, for Sweden, it would be tax free because Stake is a registered casino (I am assuming that all winnings from registered casinos are tax free in Sweden) :)

UPDATE:

**********

From the government's website:

"I have won money when I have played poker on the internet. Do I have to pay taxes on what I have won?

Poker is considered a lottery lottery game, even though the player's skill is significant in relation to the game's random momentum.

Poker should therefore be taxed according to the rules for winnings in a lottery. Such winnings are tax-free if the game is organized within the EU / EEA."

So what is the stance on this now?

The best is to phone your tax-collector and ask them directly :)

Most countries in Europe don't have regulations yet. But in general if you cash out from stake it goes to your wallet. To exchange to fiat you would need another service that has nothing to do with stake so don't worry about withdrawing from here!
