Users abusing the chat

Why do people post messages in the chat such as "." or (( or other useless symbols? It is becoming more and more common. Is it to abuse the rainbot by posting in different chatroom's or what? It drives me mad when I see randoms out of nowhere just post this useless stuff in the chat on Stake.

What do you guys think? I would love to get some insight into this :)

Well, william..

I agree that this can be really annoying for some users, but mostly it can be an accidental thing, so i think, "muting them forever" (responding to the SUPREMOCOC suggestion)) wouldn't be a great idea. I know that it may seem useless and just spammy. But sometimes it's no intended. Al-though, i like the idea and if a person is doing those in purpose, just to spam the chat. This can be reported to a Live Support members. Good luck, thanks for the idea.

This has been happening since the start of the rainbot in the spanish chat. The only solution is to mute them forever.

Those screenshots I took from the English chat, so it is really happening everywhere. I hope these users get muted for life if they abuse the rainbot in this way :(

Yes, that is true. he just entered the username in chat while waiting for the program to be called rain-bot. and that is one of Alt's properties for profit. I hope that just entering the username in chat even though the chat contains something that is not important must be warned -_-

Lol some probably do it with the intention of abusing rainbot, but luckily such activity does not increase your chances of getting rain at all. It does increase chance of getting muted by mods who suspect such intentions.

Its hard to ban them without knowing their intentions. It might mean something in an alien language or that they simply fat fingered the keyboard twice haha or maybe a sensitive keyboard could be the culprit

Some keyboards do not have the ":" (semicolon) key, so when they do emoji faces with symbols its usually just the smile or frown part.

GG, it all makes sense now. My mind=blown. I did a quick search on google and apparently Russians substitute our smiley face ":)" with ")" because of their keyboard layout as Edward hinted at and because it is more "simplistic" and "elegant". A colon is so inconvenient to form in the Russian keyboard format (you have to press shift + 6), that they adapted all the emojis involving a colon to make their own. So with this understanding, if we are to interpret what the person in the chat room was trying to express, "(" would be a sad face and "((" would be a crying emoji within the standardised emoji language LOL. The person was just trying to express their emotion and yet we shut him down as an individual trying to abuse the rain bot. How uncultured and insensitive of us!!

Hmm tough to say, it could be an accident but if they're doing it consistently over a large period of time and not even participating in conversations then I'd say it's probably a bot trying to farm rain. Should be muted or banned if they can't explain otherwise.

Pretty sure rainbot does not tip people according to their chatting. I have been around for 24 strait hours before an watched someone come back from being gone since the day before, and hit a rain and I had not even hit one since the previous day before they left for the night... so that makes me about 99.999% sure it has less to do with chat, and more random chance of hit, or betting ammounts, than anything
