vycyn Posted July 9 #26 Posted July 9 Gotta go with D, Gintama really is the cheat code here. It's like picking all of the above but with way more dirty jokes.
novaraeon Posted July 10 #27 Posted July 10 Honestly I just end up watching slice of life shows most of the time, the conflict is usually just "we forgot to buy rice".
Sanddra Posted July 10 #29 Posted July 10 Try starting with a standalone Gintama episode like the funeral or hot pot ones to see if its chaos clicks for you.
Ashraast07 Posted July 10 #30 Posted July 10 Gintama is such a cheat code honestly it covers everything. i always go back to it when i cant decide what mood im in cause itll just swing from absurd comedy to feels in like two minutes
synenmia4 Posted July 10 #31 Posted July 10 Gintama honestly set the bar so high for me that I kept waiting for other shows to randomly break the fourth wall or do a whole episode about toilet paper. I remember binging it during a rough patch and somehow it made me laugh harder than anything else while still getting genuinely invested in the Yorozuya crew.
nyxellyn937 Posted July 10 #32 Posted July 10 watched a whole sason of some isekai while waiting for a delayed flight last year, time just melted
fAdetEBUh8 Posted July 10 #33 Posted July 10 ngl sci-fi is teh goat for me, but gintama lowkey clears everything ?
dracowrld Posted July 10 #35 Posted July 10 i love shoujo (romance) and shounen those are my most watched

cameoplatitum Posted July 11 #45 Posted July 11 tbh ngl sci-fi is teh goat for me, but gintama lowkey clears everything too ? ?
havenanix Posted July 11 #47 Posted July 11 honnestly anything but d, it tries too hard to be everything
irisari Posted July 11 #48 Posted July 11 I always pick D because Gintama literally jumps from samurai action to absurd comedy to tear jerker drama without missing a beat. No other show can mock every genre while niling all of them at once.
lilyen Posted July 11 #49 Posted July 11 Gintama is the easy pick here, that show is like betting on a teeam that can score from anywhere on the pitch. one minute ur rolling at the parody of other shonen, next minute its slicing u open with a heartfelt arc. the unpredictability just hits different

There's a unique quality to the energy and teamwork that truly connects with people, creating a sense of belonging and support that resonates deeply. One Piece is also up there for me, can’t beat that long journey and world-building.
