I’ve always thought about birthday celebrations being a little bit frivolous. At least in terms of who the celebration is for. Logistically, it seems appropriate to say that a birthday celebration should be held in celebration of the mother of the child and not the child themselves. All the person who was born has done is just survive a trip around the sun. And even then it’s the parents that keep the kid alive until they can take care of themselves.Β

So to answer your question, I would invite George Carlin to my birthday. Pie would be served instead of cake. That would be one hell of a 40th birthday this year!
