williamshennie9 Posted October 29, 2018 #1 Posted October 29, 2018 Heya everyone I have been thinking about this for a while now. If a user gets banned, what stops them from just creating a new account? Obviously, if someone gets banned, they lose their reputation, and if they start a new account, they will have to rebuild their reputation up again from scratch (with a different username of course). So does Stake have measures in place to stop these banned users from returning as different users, or are banned users given the opportunity to start their Stake journey from scratch again, by using a different username? I would love to hear what you think
EddieFx Posted October 29, 2018 #2 Posted October 29, 2018 I don't really know but don't you think they have maybe a IP block or something like that to prevent the same people coming back? If someone abuses faucet they can see that by those accounts having the same IP adress so they should in theory be able to also block that certain person out from Stake!

VPN(S) are prevalent as hell nowadays... sorts of eradicates/negates identity recognition through IP, unless of course, device fingerprinting has been implemented. Having said that, an intentional user still has access to many anti-fingerprinting techniques... but most efforts are usually thwarted by careless users 😶 So... ‘banned’ users can definitely be among us in new clothing, especially the more technological savvy ones. If you ask me, losing painstakingly built reputation is too much of a waste/trouble, but to each his own.

Jakubb Posted October 29, 2018 #7 Posted October 29, 2018 Hey, I know this can be annoying as fuck, I think i know how they detect alts and all, but trust me, if the person who was banned and decided to come back isn't a smart one then they gonna get struck by the hammer of bans once again. VPN isn't everything, .

Featured Comment Dan Posted October 29, 2018 Featured Comment #12 Posted October 29, 2018 Shady operations are an inherit risk when it comes to an anonymous player base casino. We don't require any KYC or form of identification, and therefore we can't provide a high tier of player protection from other players. You need to understand that your security is managed by yourself. You decide who to trust and how to act with that information. We are not responsible for anything other than providing a secure platform for you to play on fairly. Be vigilant with your account security and you will never have anything to worry about. Never share your password or attempt any of those "hacks" that people advertise, because all they do is send your password to them via the browser console. But most importantly, We have no responsibility to maintain a database of identities. We ban players who do wrong by the community, but we can't manage their alts that may spawn. Sometimes we can detect them but we cant always take action on their alt accounts due to uncertainty of identities, especially since most people use VPN's.
Etude Posted October 29, 2018 #13 Posted October 29, 2018 Usually when brand new names pops up in chat they are normally the prime suspects of a possible previous banned/muted user alot of the time. 😛

Yes of course that is why I said "possible" until the clues and hints clicks in enough to be sure.
