Diabolical Posted December 13, 2025 #376 Posted December 13, 2025 (edited) ’Twas the night before Christmas, and high in the sky, A young reindeer named Luna let out a deep sigh. All the others were practicing - Dasher and Dancer and Prancer - But Luna’s new antlers just wouldn’t stay balanced. They wobbled and swayed with every small leap, She tumbled and stumbled while the others flew steep. Santa watched kindly from his workshop below, His eyes full of worry beneath the soft glow. “Tomorrow is Christmas,” he said with a frown, “And every reindeer must lift us off ground. But Luna, my dear, you’re still learning to fly- Without steady antlers, we’ll never get high.” Poor Luna felt awful; her heart filled with shame. She didn’t want Santa to cancel the game. So when everyone slept in the warm reindeer barn, She slipped out alone past the frost-covered yarn. Up to the rooftop she climbed in the dark, Determined to practice till dawn’s early spark. She ran and she leaped, but her antlers would sway, And down she would tumble in drifts of soft hay. Then out of the shadows came a soft little glow - A tiny elf named Pip, with a needle and thread in tow. “I’ve watched you all evening,” he whispered with cheer, “Those antlers need balance - let’s fix them right here!” He stitched silver bells to the tips of each tine, Just small enough jingles to keep her in line. When Luna took off, the bells sang sweet and clear, Guiding her balance - her flying was sheer! She soared and she looped through the star-studded night, Her antlers now steady, her heart full of light. She landed so softly that no one awoke, Except jolly Santa, who gave her a stroke. “You’ve done it, dear Luna,” he said with a grin, “Those bells are the magic that steadies within. Tomorrow you’ll fly at the front of the team - The newest bright leader of Christmas Eve’s dream.” And so, when the morning of Christmas arrived, Luna led proudly as Santa’s sleigh thrived. The bells on her antlers still ring to this day, Reminding us all that we’ll find our own way. So snuggle up closer, let the firelight dance, And dream of young reindeer who dare take a chance. May your own Christmas sparkle with courage so true, And the sweetest of magic come find its way to you. Merry Christmas, dear friend - good night and sweet dreams! 🎄🦌 Diabolical666 Edited December 13, 2025 by Diabolical
j3pzxc23 Posted December 13, 2025 #377 Posted December 13, 2025 Looking back at this past Christmas, I have realized that most of our activities as a family have been with the same traditional practices that characterize a Filipino Christmas. Filipino Christmas customs and traditions have the same characteristics every year, in good times and in bad. There are only three groups that in my observation deviate from these traditional practices. The first are the poorest of the poor who are just not able to transcend their day-to-day struggle for survival. I notice though that even among the poor families, the old customs prevail. The second group are the richest of the rich who seem to prefer spending their Christmas in foreign countries amidst opulent luxuries like ski resorts in Japan and westernized countries where there is still a “white Christmas.” The third group are those overseas Filipino workers who sadly cannot come home for the holidays and many of them must work even during Christmas, since they live in countries where Christmas is not a holiday. But for the overwhelming majority of Filipinos, it is very clear that they share some similar traditions. The first is the “coming home,” where Christmas must necessarily be celebrated with family at home. This is the reason why during the holiday season, our airports are teeming not with tourists, but with Filipinos coming home to their families. The local ports and bus terminals are also filled with people rushing to go home, wherever that may be. And for Filipinos, home is where their family is. Stake.com id : j3pzxc1023
SUKHWINDER70 Posted December 13, 2025 #378 Posted December 13, 2025 STAKE ID = SUKHWINDER70 Christmas history blends Christian celebration of Jesus' birth with ancient winter solstice festivals, marked by traditions like evergreens, feasting, gift-giving, and figures like Santa Claus, evolving from pagan customs and Roman festivals (Saturnalia) into a global holiday centered on December 25th, though the exact date of Jesus' birth is unknown. The name comes from "Christ's Mass," formalized in the 4th century by Western Christianity to coincide with Roman winter celebrations, eventually incorporating elements like St. Nicholas (Sinterklaas) to become the modern festive season. Early Origins & Date Christian Feast: Originally the "Feast of the Nativity," celebrating Jesus' birth. Date Selection: December 25th was chosen in the 4th century by the Roman Church, possibly to align with the Roman winter festival of Saturnalia, symbolizing the returning sun. Biblical Silence: The New Testament doesn't specify Jesus' birth date, with early Christians focusing more on his Passion and Resurrection. Pagan Roots & Traditions Winter Solstice: Ancient Egyptians, Romans, and others used evergreens (like wreaths, garlands) to symbolize eternal life during winter. Saturnalia: The Roman festival of Saturnalia featured feasting, gift-giving, and decorating homes, influencing later Christmas customs. Tree Worship: Germanic tribes and Vikings revered trees, a tradition that survived Christianization, leading to Christmas trees.

arsdie Posted December 13, 2025 #381 Posted December 13, 2025 (edited) Tis the night before Christmas, ...when all through the house, Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. 🎅️ The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads. And mom and dad, in their cozy warm nest, Dreamt of a Christmas morning, full of joy and rest. 😴 The night was dark, the moon shone bright, A perfect Christmas Eve, a magical night. The wind it did whisper, a gentle delight, As Santa and his reindeer took to the night. 🛸 The night before Christmas, a time so divine, A night of wonder, a night of magic shine. ammyj Posted December 13, 2025 #382 Posted December 13, 2025 Tis the night before christmas and all through the house everyone was busy.. even the mouse. A nose from the tree did occur. A crinkle a pop and smoke started pouring. Grandpa with father right behind grabbed the big bowl of veggies grandma soaked in the water. Splashes the tree and the sparkle of electricity was bright for all to see. Father grabbed a blanket to smother the fire, while grandma with her rolling pin swung it at grandpa. Smoke detector sounded and the house was bustling. The fire crew arrived and said toss those old lights. The damage was small and grandpa's noggin was bigger, egg cracked out where grandma hit em. The kids loved all the excitement and decorated the cat tree. This little fun night couldn't ruin christmas for such a pleasant bunch. And under the tree, the cat tree, what did appear but a present from the fire crew of brand new leds Stake id :ammyj

streju99 Posted December 13, 2025 #386 Posted December 13, 2025 Santa Claus, a good friend of mine, fell ill just before Christmas Eve. He was sad, thinking that the presents hadn't been distributed. Suddenly, the local children came to us with gifts for him. They brought cookies, a warm blanket, and other nice things. Santa understood their love for the most precious gift. Merry Christmas! MockANtiALles Posted December 13, 2025 #388 Posted December 13, 2025 Tis the night before Christmas, there lived a poor maid who was diligent and clean. Every day she swept the house and threw the sweepings into a large pile in front of the door. One morning, as she was about to go back to work, she found a letter on it. Since she couldn't read, she put the broom in the corner and took the letter to her master. It was an invitation from the gnomes, who asked her to deliver a child for them. The girl didn't know what to do, but after much persuasion, and because they told her that such an offer shouldn't be refused, she agreed. Then three gnomes came and led her into a hollow mountain where the little ones lived. Everything there was small, but so delicate and magnificent that it defies description. The woman in childbirth lay in a bed of black ebony with pearl buttons, the blankets were embroidered with gold, the cradle was made of ivory, and the bathtub of gold. The girl, now a godmother, wanted to go home, but the little gnomes earnestly begged her to stay with them for three days. So she stayed and spent the time in blissful joy, and the little ones did everything to please her. Stake ID : MockANtiALles monstercat 1

Tofyka18 Posted December 13, 2025 #392 Posted December 13, 2025 When I was little, around 6 maybe 7 years old, my grandfather , my older brother and I went as each December into the woods to find and chop a cristhmass tree which we than brought home and nwxt day decorate it with grandma and my mom. That year a lot of snow was fallen and we were during the day bussy with cleaning it around the house so we went inti the woods later than usual. We found the tree but when geting back to house night has caught us and nevertheless grandfather knew those woods quite good we got lost. There were no mobile phones in that time so we had to depend on grandfathers intuition and believe him that he will get us home. We were searching our way out of woods quite a long time , so long that father who was waiting at home organize a search espedition consisting of few neighboors. Just as they were starting to began search we on some strange luck found our way out and all frozen came to home of course still carrying our cristhmass tree. I will never forget that day , no matter that me.and.my brother were scared to the bones i remeber that situation as one of my best winter holiday days. Stake Id: Tofyka18

brayid Posted December 13, 2025 #395 Posted December 13, 2025 As a child, every Christmas week my grandfather would take out his Santa Claus costume and wash it in preparation for the big night. We loved Christmas parties with him. My grandfather would buy tons of candy to share with his grandchildren and the neighborhood children. On December 24th, he would go around distributing candy in his Santa Claus costume. He would drive to several houses and throw candy to the children. Afterward, we would invite our neighbors to celebrate Christmas with us. ID: braybroken

Mi sobrino de 5 años, con su pijama de reno, decidió que el árbol necesitaba “más brillo”. kunj1995 Posted December 13, 2025 #398 Posted December 13, 2025 Thi the night before Christmas, the town lay wrapped in silence, as if even the wind had decided to rest. Streetlights glowed softly, and snow dusted the rooftops like a gentle promise. In a small house at the corner of the road, an old clock ticked steadily. A child sat by the window, waiting—not for gifts, but for a miracle her grandmother always spoke of. “Christmas listens,” her grandmother used to say. “If your heart is kind, it answers.” Outside, a stranger walked past and noticed the lone light in the window. He paused, then reached into his pocket and left behind a small bell on the doorstep before walking away. When morning came, the bell rang with the breeze, filling the house with laughter. The child smiled, the grandmother whispered a prayer, and the town woke up warmer than it had the night before. Because sometimes, Christmas doesn’t arrive with noise or gifts— it arrives quietly, carrying kindness. Stake : himmatmav
OscherS67 Posted December 13, 2025 #400 Posted December 13, 2025 My grandfather used to tell this story. When he was young, one Christmas night there was a strong storm, and he had to walk from his village to the town. The roads were closed and no one was outside. He was cold and tired when he saw a light in a small house and knocked on the door.An elderly woman opened it and invited him in. She gave him hot soup and let him sit by the stove. There was no Christmas tree and no presents, but they talked for a long time. When my grandfather left in the morning, the woman only said, “I wasn’t alone this Christmas.”My grandfather always said:“That Christmas, I lost my way, and she lost her loneliness.” stake id : MathsLove67
