Tis the night before Christmas, and just here with you,

The world finally quiet, the noise long overdue.

The fire glows softly, your guard’s coming down,

No roles to keep playing, no need to be strong.

You’ve carried so much that no one can see,

Yet tonight, for once, you just get to be.

Outside it’s cold, but in here you’re safe,

Wrapped in warmth, in stillness, in this little space.

No lists to finish, no battles to fight,

Just a tired heart breathing easy tonight.

If Santa shows up, he’ll smile and move on,

Because what you’ve been needing isn’t wrapped till dawn.

It’s rest. It’s peace. It’s knowing somehow

That you’re enough—right here, right now.

So close your eyes, let the firelight fade,

Tomorrow can wait, you’ve already been brave.

Merry Christmas, just you, no crowd, no disguise—

This night is yours. 🎄

’Tis the night before Christmas, and all through the quiet house,

The lights on the tree twinkled softly while everyone slept.

I sat alone in the glow of my screen, slowly wagering the last of my monthly bonus.

Each spin felt like a small prayer — not for riches, but for just one moment where the numbers lined up and the weight lifted.

Outside, snow began to fall in silence. I closed the tab, turned off the lights, and for the first time in weeks allowed myself to simply listen to the stillness of the night.

It was the morning of the 25th, and it was my mom who brought out the plastic model kit gift from the closet in front of me. That's when I realized Santa was my parents. Thank you, Mom and Dad.

Tis' the before before Christmas, and the Stake Casino office was a whirlwind of glitter, tinsel, and pre-holiday adrenaline. Eddie, the engine of chaos and cheer, was live on stream, attempting to balance a plate of gingerbread cookies on his head while spinning Sweet Bonanza 1000. He’d decorated his streaming backdrop with so many strings of fairy lights it looked less like a casino studio and more like a disco ball exploded in a Santa's workshop. "Chat, we need a massive multiplier on this tumble!" he shouted, his voice hoarse from belting out off-key holiday tunes. "The Crypto Claus party depends on this! I need to buy enough tinsel to cover the whole internet!"

He leaned back in his chair, taking one final sip of his suspiciously red and green energy drink, and hit the spin button with a dramatic flourish. The reels of candy and fruit tumbled, and then, a glorious sight: a sequence of massive clusters hit, followed by a monumental 1000x multiplier bomb dropping into the mix. The screen froze, exploded with flashing neon graphics of gigantic candy canes, and a chorus of triumphant music blasted through his headphones. The words "MAX WIN" filled the screen in gigantic, glorious letters. Eddie's jaw dropped, the gingerbread cookies tumbled from his head, and he let out a shriek so loud it probably registered on the Richter scale. He shot out of his chair and performed a celebratory dance move that closely resembled an electrocuted Christmas turkey, accidentally yanking a string of lights right off the wall.

The entire office descended into glorious pandemonium. Developers, marketing managers, and security analysts sprinted into the stream room. "Did you see that multiplier?!" "THE MAX WIN!" The happy element was electric—Eddie was laughing, shouting, and high-fiving everyone who came near him. The funny element persisted as Ben, the head developer, had to physically hold Eddie steady so he wouldn't knock over the camera tripod, while Sarah from marketing spontaneously started pelting him with handfuls of confetti she’d found in an old storage box. The "before before Christmas" was officially saved, securing the most legendary office party in the history of online casinos. "That’s it!" Eddie roared, raising a half-eaten gingerbread man like a trophy. "The Crypto Claus budget is officially limitless! Let's make it rain Sweet Bonanza 1000x goodness!"

Tis the night before Christmas, the house dark except for the soft glow of the router light,

Children upstairs dreaming of morning surprises, unaware their dad was still awake downstairs.

I’d told myself “just one more wager to finish the requirement,” but one more had turned into dozens.

The screen showed a small win — enough to break even for the night — and something in me decided that was enough.

I cashed out the few dollars left, shut the laptop, and stood for a long time looking at the Christmas tree in the living room.

Its gentle lights felt warmer than any jackpot notification ever could.

Tomorrow I’d be present for the chaos of wrapping paper and laughter.

Tonight, I was grateful for the small mercy of simply stopping.

“Tis the night before Christmas ”

…and all through the house,

not a creature was stirring,

not even hope.

The tree stood lit, but unevenly

half the bulbs burned out,

the other half blinking like tired eyes

trying to stay open.

Stockings hung anyway,

out of habit more than belief,

their heels sagging, empty.

The clock ticked too loudly,

each second a reminder

that some chairs would stay vacant.

A plate of cookies dried at the edges,

milk warming into a skin no one would drink.

Someone had meant to replace them,

once.

Snow fell outside in a way

that felt less like magic

and more like quiet erasure

covering footsteps that would never return,

smoothing over paths no one would walk again.

There were gifts beneath the tree,

carefully wrapped, painfully thoughtful,

for people who wouldn’t be there to open them.

Name tags written in familiar handwriting,

the kind that makes your chest tighten

before your eyes do.

In the hallway, a bedroom door stayed closed.

Inside, a life paused mid-sentence:

an unmade bed,

a sweater still smelling faintly of them,

a laugh trapped in the walls.

Midnight came softly.

No reindeer.

No magic.

Just the understanding that

Christmas still arrives

even when joy doesn’t.

And somewhere between the last chime

and the long silence after,

the house learned a cruel truth:

Some nights are remembered forever,

not for what they give,

but for what they take away.

Not everyone's Christmas story is happy

Happy christmas to all my stake family

Cant forget the Christmas of 2018 in my town in Lagos, Nigeria, I told my whole street my mum bought a real American turkey. On Christmas day, she served the “turkey” which was just our neighbour’s runaway chicken she’d seasoned well. Somehow that information got leaked right in the midst of serving my friends this same “turkey”. I almost died of shame.

’Tis the night before Christmas, and the fire is crackling softly in the fireplace. The room is warm, and the only light comes from the tree in the corner, glowing with small, steady lights. Outside, snow falls slowly, covering the ground and making everything quiet.

Stockings hang by the mantel, slightly crooked, filled just enough to show they’re waiting for morning. The house smells like pine, cinnamon, and something sweet left cooling in the kitchen. A clock ticks on the wall, slow and calm, as if time itself has decided to rest.

You pull the blanket up around your shoulders and listen. The wind brushes past the windows, and the floor creaks now and then, the normal sounds of a house settling for the night. It feels peaceful—safe in a way only this night can feel.

Somewhere far off, maybe only in your imagination, a bell rings once and then is gone. You smile but don’t question it. Christmas has a way of letting you believe, just for a moment.

The fire burns low, the room grows still, and with a quiet yawn, the night wraps itself around the house, waiting patiently for morning

Tis the night before Christmas and we witness a true miracle. A crowd chanting in joy while being soaked in Eddies rain and treasures. With the snap of a finger, everybody received a bonus so massive they've never seen before. Then super Eddie flew off, leaving the crowd speachless and waiting excited for his return🎄🎅🦸

’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring… except me. And the mouse.

The sink full of dishes, the counters a mess,

A dog snoring loudly (you know I mean yes).

One pup built like thunder, one built like a sneeze,

Both dreaming of treats and ignoring my pleas.

This Christmas felt different from any other I’ve had before.

The air was cold, but the city lights made everything feel warm and alive.

I woke up early, excited, even though I tried to act calm.

Soft music played in the background while the smell of coffee filled the house.

Outside, people were already smiling, wishing each other “Merry Christmas.”

I spent the morning with my family, laughing over small jokes and old memories.

There were no perfect moments, but everything felt real and meaningful.

Later, I went out for a walk and watched the streets glow with decorations.

The shops were bright, and everyone seemed a little kinder than usual.

In the afternoon, I thought about the year that had passed.

There were challenges, mistakes, and lessons I didn’t expect to learn.

But Christmas reminded me how far I’ve come.

In the evening, we sat together and shared stories and good food.

Time felt slower, like the world gave us a short break.

I realized I didn’t need big gifts to feel happy.

What mattered was the feeling of togetherness and hope.

When the night came, the lights outside still shined.

I felt grateful, calm, and ready for a new beginning.

This Christmas wasn’t perfect — and that’s what made it special.
