Etude Posted December 2, 2018 #1 Posted December 2, 2018 Hi everyone! Do you actually use this "Ignore user" function available in Stake chat? I have read that there are several users who have a long list of users that has been ignored which actually in their opinion kept their chat much more cleaner and they will only see chat messages posted by people of their liking most of the time. Well in my case, my user ignore list is practically empty as I would prefer not to miss a beat of what is actually happening at the moment in Stake chat, since sometimes when you start ignoring alot of users the main context being discussed in the chat could very well be lost since parts of the conversations are missing! I usually only reserve this function on the very worst kind of harrasments/unreasonable mass spammer which to be honest is rather rare.
Jakubb Posted December 2, 2018 #2 Posted December 2, 2018 Oh hell fuck yes Etude. I use it super often. I believe i used to have around 300 PEOPLE ON IGNORE. I had to unignore them all since I host games and trivias pretty often nowadays.

There are users that just want to troll or be annoying. Ofc there might be a lot of reasons to put someone on the ignore list. Obviously. anyway. I don’t like to ignore any user. I handle this like in real life. If you‘re in the room with that person, you can’t just label the person as ignored and it disappears.
DancerCat Posted December 3, 2018 #6 Posted December 3, 2018 if you dont like someones way of talking you can ignore him or her. There are many players who spam youtube videos or music in chat. Thats annoying because after they post it in next line title pops up and it spam more. Apparently its allowed. 11 minutes ago, CaptainLorca said: There are users that just want to troll or be annoying mods are there to handle this 11 minutes ago, CaptainLorca said: I don’t like to ignore any user youre a mod. you can ignore a user?
zeriko Posted December 3, 2018 #7 Posted December 3, 2018 The only reason I ever ignore anyone is by accident and other than that I see no reason to ignore someone unless they're clearly trolling/spamming in which case the mod to take care of them
felipev1994 Posted December 3, 2018 #8 Posted December 3, 2018 i use "ignore finction" only when annoying users pm me all day, i think that some users have too many users ignored to users only for fun, and for this have a loooong list of ignored users
Kate Posted December 3, 2018 #9 Posted December 3, 2018 Well I don't want people to hate me and have all that stupid drama which is really annoying so instead I just ignore their messages or ignore them all in general so that they don't know about it.
williamshennie9 Posted December 3, 2018 #10 Posted December 3, 2018 I just ignore people who bring my mood down, by only posting losing bets, always passive begging, like "no luck", "bust", "sad day". If they do it once off, I won't ignore, but there are some users on Stake, who for the past 4 months have only commented those things and it is extremely annoying.
Sefan Posted December 3, 2018 #11 Posted December 3, 2018 My ignore list is over 60+ persons, most beggars and spammers
wcmawiii Posted December 3, 2018 #12 Posted December 3, 2018 Who i need to ignore. All good people here how i can ignore good people. Nothing to do with me. Luv. All.

Do you think this would manage your ignore list better in future or not? It's just a simple example of something new that could possibly be at stake, but do you think that's worth it? I guess this would not be a bad addition to add, but you could just unmute the user if you feel they could have changed (although the users I've ignored still do the same things over and over again, so I guess they will never be unignored)

Well how hard is to to just do a few clicks and then try to unignore the player ? We shouldn't be that lazy of a person

Hmm, well, I think it's would just be a fancy add-on. Not really needed though.

I also empty it out and start over every now and then. I never have more than 5-10 at any time. I find if someone in chat is being a real drama hound, or just annoying me - i will ignore them. It makes chat more pleasant, but more importantly.....it keeps chat fun to use without distracting me too much from my strategy
77kdub Posted December 5, 2018 #17 Posted December 5, 2018 I've never used the "Ignore user" feature. I actually think it's kind of silly and juvinile because it's as if some people use it like a retaliation towards someone for example. I figure if they are bothering me to the point I feel I need to completely block them out they are going to get muted soon enough and it takes a lot & I mean a lot to offend me anyway. I wonder how they deal with real life situations where there is no "Ignore user" feature must be difficult for them. 😣 lol
SergyYT Posted December 5, 2018 #18 Posted December 5, 2018 the truth I do not use it but for other people it could be very useful since some people are dedicated to annoying you

KiritoCS Posted December 5, 2018 #21 Posted December 5, 2018 I use it for hardcore beggers or people who just talk bs about others and me.
kolloh Posted December 5, 2018 #22 Posted December 5, 2018 Never really use ignore. Guess if someone was repeatedly bothering you, it could come in handy though.
wry Posted December 5, 2018 #23 Posted December 5, 2018 Until I became a mod I used it RELENTLESSLY. It is the best thing ever. So much of chat is low value, but just a simple command and all the idiots, fail trolls, beggars, and general buffonery goes away. I actually re-left PD chat because it didn't have /ignore and it was just too mentally painful to endure all the drivel without /ignore. I'd say /ignore is the single most mandatory feature of a chat for me. Life is just too short to have to waste time reading negative and unconstructive comments.

Funnily great. I thought you couldn't ignore people as a Moderator, but you can mute them instead so they don't bother chat with useless, bad, content.
wngo123 Posted December 9, 2018 #25 Posted December 9, 2018 I used it only once for the person who come to me and wanted me to "borrow" money. The account looked like alt and all of that looked so fake.
