Honestly, I wouldn't just sit back and assume the plat upgrade will automatically make it fatter, it might be the same as usual or even take longer if your accout needs manual review. I've seen people get the exact same amount after a rank jump, so maybe lower the expectations a bit and just let it surprise you whenever it lands.
