Nauman8o8 Posted March 2 #1 Posted March 2 Taking a break for now For the past three months I have been going through a difficult phase in my gambling journey. Despite trying different approaches and even low multiplier games like 1.13x and 1.22x I have faced consistent losses.I realized that I was making emotional decisions and chasing losses which only increased my frustration. Instead of enjoyment it started affecting my peace of mind. For now I have decided to take a break and reset myself mentally. I believe stepping away is the most responsible choice at this time.
Bimfo Posted March 2 #2 Posted March 2 Sorry you’re feeling this way, bro. 💙 I just want to say this from a real place. Casino games should only ever be for fun. You have to go into it knowing that whether you win or lose, it shouldn’t affect you emotionally or financially. The house always has the edge. That’s how it’s designed. If gambling ever starts feeling like pressure instead of entertainment, that’s a sign to step back. Honestly, if casino play isn’t feeling healthy for you, it might be a good idea to contact support and ask for a permanent casino ban, but you can leave Sports. Protecting yourself is always the smart move. If you want to make it a business, you can do Sports, but stick to singles, and then only player props, and bet only 1-3% of your bank roll. That is the only way you can win, and make it a business. Your well-being matters way more than any game. I’m really sorry you’re going through this, and I genuinely hope you take care of yourself and recover from how this has made you feel. 💖
eleshaman456 Posted March 3 #3 Posted March 3 Hope you feel better soon, when its stops being fun you need to stop and take a break, good on you
Moderator StefanTl Posted March 4 Moderator #4 Posted March 4 I respect that a lot. It’s not easy to admit when things aren’t going well, especially after a rough streak. Taking a break sounds like the right move if it’s starting to affect your mindset. Gambling should always be entertainment, not pressure or stress. If you ever feel like you need extra tools or guidance, Stake has a helpful Stake Smart section with resources about responsible play, limits, and self-exclusion options: https://help.stake.com/en/collections/13719927-stake-smart Take care of yourself first. Mariusc86 Posted March 4 #5 Posted March 4 One thing in gambling is never chase losses, you just dig a deeper hole
bitmiko Posted March 6 #9 Posted March 6 Yes, stepping away is the most responsible choice to do. Hope you recover and find that happiness again. Nauman8o8 1
Moderator FilipTa Posted March 6 Moderator #11 Posted March 6 Respect for recognizing it and taking a break. That’s honestly one of the hardest but smartest things a gambler can do. Sometimes when things start affecting your mood or peace of mind, stepping away for a while is the best reset. Taking a break is smart. Mental reset is more important than chasing wins. Focus on yourself, recharge, and come back fresh when you feel ready. We’ve all been there! Regards, @FilipTa Community Manager Team Nauman8o8 1
