Labor Day

Labor Day is celebrated internationally as a public holiday in over 80 countries, most commonly on May 1st, also known as International Workers' Day or May Day.

Hard Work Builds the World” is about recognizing that everything we rely on: homes, roads, technology, healthcare, education, exists because of people putting in effort every day.
It’s a theme that shifts attention from results to the process and the people behind it.

Every job matters, whether visible or behind the scenes.

Society is built collectively, not individually.

I think it's important to recognise the backbone of a smoothly working society. Roads and infrastructure aren't built on architecture and engineering alone, it's hardwork of hundreds or more workers working through the heat, the long exhausting hours, very little protection or inspection, for minimal wages.

This day itself comes from workers who had to fight for basic rights like fair wages, safer conditions, and reasonable working hours, things that weren’t simply given.

During COVID, when factories were suddenly shut, millions of migrant workers lost their source of income and had to travel back to their villages here, i believe many had to walk miles initially when the transport was shut. While we also had essential workers working in many areas, especially hospitals risking their lives to save lives. It really shows you that while you and I could sit locked away in the comfort of our homes, there were essential workers putting in effort and risk each day.

Every day we benefit from convenience, whether it's good infrastructure or cleanliness or anything that comes at the cost of someone invisibly working for it. We look at it as ordinary, when infact it's the backbone, that so much of the convenience we simply live off of comes from the hardwork from the working class. And that's why it's important to not only recognise their efforts, but also support rights and movements, and recognise this day as historically important.

Damn long 🤦🏻‍♀️but I guess that's pretty much it. Happy labour day. ❤️

Today we celebrate Labor Day, a day dedicated to workers and their contributions. While most people are enjoying barbecues and a well-deserved break, I’m here working 😂. Still, happy Labor Day to everyone! ❤️

Yeoo!! While you enjoy your labour today is my birthday 😀
Happy Day 💖

Beautifully said. Labor Day is a powerful reminder that every small effort contributes to something bigger than ourselves. It really makes you appreciate not just the visible achievements, but also the quiet, consistent work happening behind the scenes.

Labor day is a true reminder that every work done is a step towards a better tomorrow. We celebrate that day as a day that everything can be done, but rest is sometimes much needed. We gather with our families, make a barbecue and take a laugh, so we forget about the everyday problems we are all dealing with.
