polor12 Posted December 19, 2018 #1 Posted December 19, 2018 This basically to see are some players more tolerable then others in reading what they see in chat.. If any subject that will offend you ..will you speak up on it...would you send a pm to that individual or to mod about the subject.. or let it be known in chat.. what if its joke? would you let it go.. what would you do if you are that person that offended someone... are you gonna defend yourself or ignore the complaint..mods can only mute or warn someone.. This for mods.. if a long time player complains to u about the cursing that's going on in chat..will you warn or mute those people because 1 person feels offended..we say a lot of crazy things.. this pass couple days a couple issues went from a forum topic to chat...we joke around a lot.. we swear constantly..the most reason to get a warning for mute..is no CAPS or passive begging...what if they added a profanity filter in chat..any bad words or typing in a different language that would auto mute for hours.. would you be more careful what you say?
CaptainLorca Posted December 19, 2018 #2 Posted December 19, 2018 All I can say is.. yes, there is fun and that’s super important. Better then people ranting the whole day or insulting everyone. Begging included. what I can say is that we all should take care of being respectful. There are jokes I take really serious. if we all look a little after each other, we all can have a great time. I agree that people should speak up if something offends. It’s okay to have an adult conversation on stuff. we don’t need to agree on each other with everything. But let’s try to keep living together.
ZZgisi Posted December 19, 2018 #3 Posted December 19, 2018 It is good to have jokes, but it is always important to remember that behind each user there is a human being with feelings and limitations. With empathy everything can be made more enjoyable.
Brunkey Posted December 19, 2018 #4 Posted December 19, 2018 Complety agree with @ZZgisi jokes are very important on the chat! Some people are rude and some people are friendly.
Mlc Posted December 19, 2018 #5 Posted December 19, 2018 Okay first of all , we are all adults , and the relaxed atmosphere that stake provides is one of its best features , swearing in chat? Yes Iv said a few colourful words now and again , but who hasn’t. Jokes and sarcasm are and always have the best conversation starters without them it would be dull and boring, When a player is offending you personally, My advise would be to defend yourself to a certain degree, Just remember you have a mute button and you don’t have to see what others are writing, Iv said this before and I’ll say it again , it costs nothing to be nice to people , but personally I say be yourself , people will either like you or they won’t , again for this there is a mute option furthermore if a user is being offensive in chat but it’s not directed at you , I would just stay out of it and I wouldn’t pm them to tell them to stop , it’s obvious if people are replying to them in chat then leave them be , gl everyone and merry Christmas ❤️

It maybe doesn't happen as often as it could considering we are from all over the world - so many different cultures! So on one hand - it would be great to give one another the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it is just people in chat having fun, and not meaning to offend. On the other hand - it's important to remember that if we get feedback from other players, mods, or support that we have crossed some line......well then, it's a learning moment and we would do well to take note of it. my two cents!
wry Posted December 19, 2018 #7 Posted December 19, 2018 I never take anyone in chat too seriously. It's a public forum on the internet that almost anyone can access. There are no shortage of people in chat who seem to think by belittling others they make themselves look better or clever. However, rather than waste time on such losers and giving them the satisfaction of getting to me I just ignore them. If anyone is annoying or offensive it's so much easier to just use /ignore and solve the problem rather than getting upset. It makes it so much easier to focus on the constructive and interesting people that form the core of the community here. At the same time, if someone is violating the rules, that's different than me being offended or put off, that should be reported so proper action can be taken.
Snike Posted December 19, 2018 #8 Posted December 19, 2018 You have to know that people in chat behave waaaaaay differently than when they would talk to you IRL. 90% of the messages arent meant to be taken serious I met a lot of people from alcoholics to scammers in chat and all of them are jokingly but nice! Dont take stuff too serious unless youre certain its meant to be taken serious
williamshennie9 Posted December 19, 2018 #9 Posted December 19, 2018 Jokes and banter are definitely healthy on the chat, some spice here and there makes it enjoyable. However, you get some people who offend or insult others with the intention to do so. These users should be muted in my opinion.

Also there is one thing that everyone needs to remember is that when we are chatting on a device the person or people on the other side may read what you typed differently then the way you meant for it to come across. For example I can say get out of here and to me in my head its in" a joking laughing funny tone" but someone may take it as get out of here in a "harsh i don't want you here kind of tone".. Anyway I luv you all and good luck.
polor12 Posted December 20, 2018 Author #11 Posted December 20, 2018 what about the casino adding a profanity filter that auto mutes..if it ever comes to that.. how would you react or would you make it worth it getting muted..? ill make worth in my opinion..

Lol fuck that . We are all adults and so chat should be treated as such, no reason to censor freedom of speech to that extent.
Mahdirakib87 Posted December 20, 2018 #13 Posted December 20, 2018 Chat makes the gambling site fulfill. And no kids allow here at gambling. So we can make that's kind of joke and make some fun at chat. But we should also need to be careful. Cause we should do it for fun. Not for insult or offensive to other users. Different people will say different thing here. But we need to keep it mind that everything should stay in limit. Words on chat also should have it.
KiXxnTRiXx Posted December 20, 2018 #14 Posted December 20, 2018 Public chat is no different than standing outsisde and hearing other peoples conversation. Either learn selective reading or put them on ignore. I personally would not meddle in conversation unless its directed towards me. To some i understand the wanting to say something but all it creates is more drama and toxicity in chat. The ignore button in there for a reason, also moderators and support are the ones who are already filtering this type of behavior. As a pllayer, all we can do is make a bigger fire than it already is. Just report to support if no mod is around and they will handle it without the need to escalate the situation.

I think people feel very comfortable being hidden behind a computer screen when they chat. That is why they beg, and don't care what they say. Good thing Stake has that ignore button
Kate Posted December 31, 2018 #16 Posted December 31, 2018 Jokes are important and seriousness too but jokes shouldn't hurt others they shouldn't be in a way that makes fun and hurts but the person should know its just for fun
DreamStage Posted December 31, 2018 #17 Posted December 31, 2018 Well in my opinion something could just become avoided if Stake used some kind of auto filter (as you mentioned) but in this case just like Twitch pherhaps? Where each filtered word would still stay in the chat like ******** and the MODs could still verify them and take immediate action on the User if he or she has become enough negative to receive some specific punishment.
DviouS Posted January 1, 2019 #18 Posted January 1, 2019 Lol.... Snitching is never cool, no matter how much Darkblood tries to tell you that it is. If you have a problem with someones humor and chat is offending you, perhaps a good cry should suffice 😪😪

It just comes with the territory and I dont think any one is wrong or right here ..... Different people are going to react differently .... You never really can be sure but as we are all adults I think you should know right from wrong .... And know that excessive profanity or racial jokes are just not acceptable at any time !
DviouS Posted January 5, 2019 #21 Posted January 5, 2019 I agree william.... comedy has no boundaries, that is what makes it so great. You can take something utterly offensive, and make light of it.. and find some laughs. If you choose to allow yourself to ruin the vibes.. you might find yourself at the end of one of these low-down , feeling hurting, utterly offensive, tear drop making, dirty dirty did I say dirty? Dirty fuckin jokes..... 😢😭😰 and if you feel the need to report me for it, Fuh-Q, has a great day! =T
blueprints Posted January 9, 2019 #22 Posted January 9, 2019 Honestly though i think only really offensive stuff should be reported like that. I mean there would be too many reports if every little misconduct was dealt with like if it was something big enough to need attention and discipline. But for sure any thing racist or offensive to religion or beliefs or anything of that nature should definitely not be tolerated at all. Maybe we need a zero tolerance list of stuff?
carolwebd Posted January 9, 2019 #23 Posted January 9, 2019 People can be really gross, sometimes, but what bothers me the most, are the "chat tourists" and their !cv commands every 30 minutes =/
Laura2000 Posted January 9, 2019 #24 Posted January 9, 2019 I think respect is very important in all relationships in live, and in game..... but you need to do the difference between a friend and a not known player, when you have some confidence discussions are more informal... and about moderators, need to take the things more in perspective, in global, depends on the intention of the comments of course.
