LTC deposit to BTC address

Hi i made a stupid error, I withdrew LTC from Binance and sent it to my stake BTC address.

Technically speaking it is definitely possible to recover my LTC, But without owning the private key (which I obviously don't because the address does belong to Stake) I can't do this myself.

I also understand that In order to guarantee security of my funds, Stake has intentionally made it very difficult for any individual in their company to access any of the private keys.  That way, individuals in the company don't need to be trusted not to steal their customer's funds. I am asking you to break their own security model.  Whomever accesses the private key for me would be able to access other private keys as well, and theoretically could steal funds. As such, they will almost certainly need a complicated process with redundant checks-and-balances involving multiple levels of authorization.  The typical Stake support person already said they are not going to be able to do this for me.  That is why I need to escalate it to the appropriate level within the company to address the problem for me.  I'd expect this to take a while, and to incur some costs (which I am happy to pay, this transaction was a substantial amount of LTC, that is worth the hassle trying to recover).

So to clarify:

While I did make the mistake of using the BTC deposit address instead of the LTC deposit address, I still don't think a small mistake like that this should not take away any obligation of help to their user.

I am a Stake user.

I sent LTC to my BTC Stake address.

The transaction is confirmed.

Those LTC did not show up in my account.

For more sensitive information about the transaction ID and amount I am happy to disclose over E-mail to the relevant support team.

Regards, Qwerty

Not sure if these coins are retrieveable. I always thought if u sent to the wrong addy they would be gone for good....

Seeing you already contacted support to no avail, opening a topic can work, I mean maybe someone can help.. u seem to know quite a bit.

Has there ever been someone who has managed to reclaim coins wrongfully sent tho\

over $1000 worth of LTC... kinda hoping Eddie can come through for me... not holding my breath though, worst case it's going to be an expensive lesson learned.

BTC addressed started with 1 and LTC started with L. It should pop up a message said invalid address when you sent the coin

Did you tell the support already? Damn so sorry to see this. From this thread, we should learn to be careful and always double check the address when we wanted to do a depo/wd

Litecoin address started with L. BTC address started with a 3, so never had an error message unfortunately.

Not sure if this video will help you but here it goes. Good luck for you!

You need the keys for this one which will be impossible since its Stake's private key.

But it is possible to recover your friend's money to spend some time on Youtube like recovering your LTC sent to a BTC wallet. It is easy to talk with the support so they can help you. That is the good thing about bitcoin that can be recovered.
