i remember in a local league match once our best player shankked every penalty he took for a whole season and then nailed the decider in the final. pens are just like that sometimes even for messi, wouldnt shock me if it flips around.

Honestly I once played a tournament where our best player skied three pens in one game but then casually chipped the keeper from 40 yards out and we forgot all about the misses, so if Messi still pulls off some of that classic nonsense it won't matter at all.

Tbh reminds me of a 5 a side tourney I was in where our best player missed every pen but then dragged us through semis with the most ridiculous dribble I've ever seen and we all just kinda forgot the pens even happened
