Heazzy Posted 5 hours ago #1 Posted 5 hours ago I’ve seen this debate come up countless times, and I’d like to hear what everyone thinks. In my opinion, luck definitely plays a role in the short term. Anyone can catch the perfect river card or get dealt premium hands during a single session. But over the long run, I believe skill becomes the deciding factor. Things like bankroll management, reading opponents, position, bet sizing, and emotional control seem to separate winning players from losing ones. Do you think a highly skilled player will always outperform an average player over hundreds or thousands of hands, or does variance have a bigger impact than most people admit? I’d love to hear your experiences. Have you ever gone through an incredible winning streak or a brutal downswing despite making the right decisions? What lessons did you take away from it?
