Poll/discussion regarding people's mindsets

What goes through your mind in this scenario: you got a tip/rain of 10k satoshi, made it to 1m satoshi (0.01 BTC) and busted it.

    • You let it go since it is you know... FREE and you didn't work for it (if you did "work" by begging just never come back to Stake ty)
    • You cry about it in chat for the next hour linking all the losing bets etc

Hi all, I just saw this earliar in chat image.png.2651157103c767874741a6095b7ead52.png, which reminded me of this question I've had for ages, what do you do in a scenario where you got free money, made it to a very big amount and busted before you withdrew. This is the classic greed scenario I think, knowing when to stop. I'll be honest and say even I do the exact same thing, countless times. However what I'm really interested in is, do you let it go or start complaining? There are so many of these people that receive a big chunk of rain and then bust it, then go "busted everything in chat". I'd love to know your reason for announcing losing FREE MONEY besides trying to passive for more rain/tips of course. I find it very similar to finding a dollar on the ground walking and then losing it down a drain when digging through your bag.

Of course, another similar scenario is where you deposit a very small amount (say 100k sat), made it to 0.1 btc, then busted everything. In reality you only lost 0.001 but we all know it could've been "potentially 0.1". Do you tell everyone you busted 0.1 or 0.001?

This is a casino, and people must understand that. People should stop complaining. As simple as that. I am glad Stake increased the minimum requirements to chat, it really has helped reduce the amount of beggars and complainers, but people who complain they bust should not gamble in the first place.

PS. You have a higher chance of busting in a casino than you do of winning. Always remember that :)

Please read my topic, I asked for your mindset, not why do people complain (we all know why lol), and the minimum requirements to chat increase was already discussed in my other thread. I'm sure you are not the first category, however if you've ever won alot then lost it after depositing, I'd love to hear what went through your mind afterwards :)

Well, like most people I tend to get upset, possibly angry if I knew I placed foolish bets. The first time I busted on Stake was when I was betting 0.2 BTC on Stake. I learned my lesson well. In terms of my mindset, I was upset with myself for lack of discipline, and lack of self control, but I never thought of complaining in the chat, because it was only myself who I could blame.

Sometimes i say something in chat to voice out my frustration as an outlet so i do not hold on to the rage i feel in order to let it go. Theres times where i keep it to myself and just log off so i dont say anything that would just fuel my rage. It depends on how my energy level is that day. There are days when i can just shrug it off, but the days where its just absolutely absurd, that i willl say something on what my opinion is of how broken the game is and hoping perhaps that someone out there will look into it because more and more players are experiencing the bs thats seems consistent in every situation. Endless reds with no turn around that seems to cycle over and over again.

It is not about the loss, it is about the potential to recover via friends or rainbot.  My sense is that most people go with option 1 but chat is obviously over populated with the people who select option 2.  So we see a lot more of it.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were people who complain of being "busted" after every faucet claim.  Free money all to frequently brings out the worst in people.

Well in my view It depends on what mood I am if i am angry and furious at the time of busting ill cry if I was like in a chill mood then no I would be like its free money.

When I bust weather its a tip or from my own money it still upsets me and anyone who says different is either well off in the funds department or is faburcting  the truth about how they really feel lol.  However some people announce busting for different reasons some are passive reasons some are just people wanting to start a conversation i  chat and some are just because we need to vent lol.  Anyway good luck everyone

I would definitely be angry with myself. I think any amount that you build up over a couple hours that in itself is hard work. So whether it was free or not if you put in that much work and bust it's upsetting. I've certainly have experience with this, not from a tip but from faucets.

For me, i always complaining. but only complain to my self

i blame my self why i didnt do a Withdrawal and still playing. even its a free money but i think if we Withdraw it that is gonna be good and we can use that money for buy foods.things, and many more

Well, i would definitely get over it in seconds while it was free, i mean why would you even cry about it! However, this guy must have nightmares of it since then.:P Wondering why he didnt get muted or something for spamming.

Aha ! Big question ! And as 93 of who answered ( including me ) says they let it go we can assume that beggars and haters didnt took part to it ^^

More seriously i couldnt answer by a yes/no alternwtiv because it really depends . And in your example i d say that first of all before even complaining and busting, the first thing i do in such case is : being proud of myself amd sharing my good fortune in chat and sharing too some of my winnings with my friends and eventually with some unknown guys. Not the biggest part but when i feel i have been really lucky ( winning a x990 or a x450 for example ) it seems to me that it s somehow a way to thank faith for its gift to share with other ( among the fact that as i may have received tip from friend it seems natural and obvious to do the same when i can ).

But if ever after having done all that i keep playing like an addict and obviously loose everything i will surely share it in chat but not in a "life is unfair" attitude but more like "i ve been stupid, watch how much stupid i did" and maybe it could be use as a reminder to other that are in the situation i was just few times earlier. I dont know if you get what i mean ?

Well in few words , i d say saying once in chat "i busted i m mad ... " is most understable but saying it repeatedly over and over every day isnt the same thing 😉

I've gone and made 0.01 of so many varying amounts, that i barely blink at a bust. I just shake my head, know that I went too far, and try and trace back to where I lost control, or determine whether next time I will be able to avoid going 'all-in' (that is to say, mentally, not necessarily fiscally speaking xD ) .. analyse, analyse, ..anal eyes. xD ew

I kind of am on both sides of this.   Some days I am whiner and some days I am not.   I just don’t know.

But there can be only one outcome right ? Since you get free money you gamble that and win like 100 dollars and next thing you know you bust so would you be sad or fine ?

If the scenario like that, obviously will let it go. I mean, it's from a free money, if you bust then just let it go.

I do agree, but I also can't help to think about the fact that I had the opportunity to withdraw, and that it could have been real money. But looking at it objectively, you're right, you get it for free, so you are not worse off.

Well, it's his fault not withdraw the money, instead keep playing until he bust and cry in the chat xD

This has been happening a lot with me for the past 2 or 3 days. And it is indeed very annoying. But I never take to chat to talk about it. There's two reasons I don't take it to chat. Primary reason being that I hate it when people talk about their busts in chat all the time, and it just looks like passive begging now. Even though talking about your busts once in a while is okay, beggars have done it so much now that it just naturally seems like you're begging. Second reason is that I feel embarrassed. Not because I think others will judge me (what will they even judge me for?) but because I hate it when I don't have self control. I just shut stake and start drawing. Drawing calms me down! hahah :D

I didn't tick any of the options in your poll because I don't do either. Neither do I complain in chat, neither do I let it go easily! I just beat my self about it hahah.

I don't tell anyone, but if I tell my friends on PM, then I say "I ripped 0.1 but only deposited 0.001 so its fine" because then it would make me feel a little better too :D

I actually wonder why the minimum wager amount to chat is just $100, I mean that attracts lots of beggars and people who just chasing ''free money'' or asking for loans etc. Having a higher min wager amount would make chat a happy place to be with less spam and all those annoying stuff. I mean that even if you deposit a dollar you can even wager $100. :PP
