Most creators are betteer off starting with Canva instead of jumping straight into Photoshop, it’s way less overwhelming and still gets the job done for basic stuff.

If you need simple thumbnails or banners, photopea dot com is basically a free browser version of photoshop and doesnt murder your ram.
