Homoki Posted Saturday at 10:22 AM #26 Posted Saturday at 10:22 AM I folded pocket kings preflop last month because the tightest guy at the table 5 bet shoved and he showed aces after, that one fold probably saved my whole session.
autumnlor Posted Saturday at 11:10 AM #27 Posted Saturday at 11:10 AM fold discipline beats fancy bluffs every time in my experiance
doseori Posted Saturday at 11:13 AM #28 Posted Saturday at 11:13 AM Most of the table's just waiting for someone else to make a mistake, so I keep it boring and let them do the work.
ryxioick805 Posted Saturday at 12:01 PM #29 Posted Saturday at 12:01 PM tracking how many times you cbet the flop vs actually having it helps alot, i started checking back way more and my redline doesnt look like a cliff anymore
kazenssa Posted Saturday at 01:09 PM #30 Posted Saturday at 01:09 PM What's the one specific habit you built that helped you stay patient when the cards just aren't falling for an hour straight?
kaiegi8bqf Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM #31 Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM def more skill than luck tbh, but omg when you lose to a crazy river it just hits different ? imo
voxrily96 Posted Saturday at 02:59 PM #32 Posted Saturday at 02:59 PM yeah the luck factor is real short term but over a session its all about who tilts first honestly. my biggest improvement came when i stopped trying to outplay every pot and just focused on folding early when i sensed the table was too aggro.
legacyally85 Posted Saturday at 05:21 PM #33 Posted Saturday at 05:21 PM definitely more skill than luck over timme but i still struggle with knowing when to let go of a decent hand. what's your go to move when the board turns ugly and you already put chips in?
faitharax Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM #34 Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM tracking how long you can stay in a session without tilt is a better metric thna counting your chipstacks early on. i set a silent timer for 30 mins and if im still steay i let the discipline do the rest.
Zylkaienne Posted yesterday at 07:41 AM #35 Posted yesterday at 07:41 AM I remember one session where I folded AQ preflop three orbits in a row just cause a tight player kept 3betting me, felt so wrong in the moment. Then I finally stacked him with kings when he tried it again, and he typed in chat "always the same hand". That patience really is the whole game.
phanin Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM #36 Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM After enough hands, patience always beats chasing gutshots.
Mikkioly Posted yesterday at 08:48 AM #37 Posted yesterday at 08:48 AM Its just mtah and patience honestly.
ben99bmry Posted 5 hours ago #38 Posted 5 hours ago I see your point but calling it mostly skill ignores how mucch short term variance can mess with even solid play tbh.
