gladeienne Posted Thursday at 08:23 PM #2 Posted Thursday at 08:23 PM Which one though? The animated Spider-Verse one is on another level tbh
Wineyth Posted Thursday at 08:28 PM #3 Posted Thursday at 08:28 PM The first Sam Raimi one still hits different for me, that nostalgia is real
faithtia Posted Thursday at 08:33 PM #4 Posted Thursday at 08:33 PM The Raimi trilogy just has that vibe newer ones can't match, even with all the fancy effects.
vyxly Posted Thursday at 08:44 PM #5 Posted Thursday at 08:44 PM ngl the Raimi ones just have that perfect mix of camp and heart that's impossible to replicate
ashys5 Posted Thursday at 09:11 PM #6 Posted Thursday at 09:11 PM Yeah the Raimi ones just understood the assignment, no amount of CGI can beat that practical suit and Willem Dafoe's unhinged energy.
Sandra2 Posted Thursday at 09:17 PM #7 Posted Thursday at 09:17 PM Fr the Raimi suit still looks better than half the CGI mess we get now, and Dafoe was on a whole other level of crazy in that mask.
autumnon Posted Thursday at 09:39 PM #8 Posted Thursday at 09:39 PM Fr, Dafoe talking to himself in the mirror is still one of the best villain scenes ever put to film
jadeoresse Posted yesterday at 12:16 PM #9 Posted yesterday at 12:16 PM I still remember watching the first one on a tiny box TV in my parents' living room and that upside down kiss just blew my mind as a kid. The Green Goblin was genuinely scary back then too, not like some of the goofy villains we got later.
nylixund Posted yesterday at 02:09 PM #10 Posted yesterday at 02:09 PM I saw the first one at a birhtday party where half the kids werent even watching and i was glued to the screen like a weirdo
Pyxirry2 Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM #11 Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM The way they animated his web swinging through the city was so smooth, you could almost feel the momentum in your stomach.
oriana49 Posted yesterday at 02:14 PM #12 Posted yesterday at 02:14 PM tobey maguire will forever be my spiderman no cap, the pizza time scene alone clears everything else ?
ivoryesse Posted 7 hours ago #16 Posted 7 hours ago Which Spiderman are you talking about? I always feel like everyone has a totally different one in mind when this topic pops up.
thornna833 Posted 5 hours ago #17 Posted 5 hours ago Spiderverse completely redefined what an animated superhero film could be, way more inventive than any live action version. That constant creative risk taking in the visuals and story put it on anohter level for me.
lyraanver Posted 5 hours ago #18 Posted 5 hours ago Miles swinging into my heart fr, spiderverse 2 had zero business looking that crisp
lilyen Posted 4 hours ago #19 Posted 4 hours ago try watching with subtitles on next time, the jokes land way funnier when you catch all the mumbled lines
Vycaylyn Posted 4 hours ago #20 Posted 4 hours ago Honestly I thought the first Sam Raimi one is still the best, the newer stuff feels too polished and safe. The original had this weird charm that really nailed what Peter Parker is about, awkward and all.
Vyciomia Posted 1 hour ago #21 Posted 1 hour ago I watched the first Raimi one in a packed theater and the whole room gasped at that upside down kiss scene, still gives me chills thinking about it.
Naloreltia Posted 1 hour ago #22 Posted 1 hour ago That Raimi Spiderman game on PS2 had me betting my brother I could finish it in one sitting, still holds up.
