I always end up throwing De Bruyne in because I still vividly remmeber that crss to Sane against Stoke where he didn’t even look up, just pure instinct. And then I feel guilty leaving Modric out but he was more 2014 2018 peak in my head honestly.

Picking a midfield three is where I always get stuck because Modric's longevity keeps colliding with De Bruyne's raw creative numbers, but if I had to pick one for the clutch gene in knockout games I would still lean Modric.

Honestly the easiest way to do it without going insane is just build a functional midfield first and force everyone else around that, cos if you pick flashy names first youll end up with zero defensive cover.

honestly do you go Neuer or Courtois though because thats where i always stall out first. rest of the team can be perfcet but if your gk pick feels wrong the whole thing looks messy.
