gamborazy Posted Tuesday at 09:00 PM #1 Posted Tuesday at 09:00 PM How does poker works in simple terms
gauzera Posted yesterday at 05:30 PM #2 Posted yesterday at 05:30 PM Basically you get cards, try to make the best hand, and either bluff or bet based on what you think others have.
syness Posted yesterday at 06:34 PM #3 Posted yesterday at 06:34 PM You get two cards, then five community cards come out in stages, and you're just trying to build the strongest 5-card combo using any mix of your own and the shared ones.
aspireso Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM #4 Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM no cap ngl poker is mostly about not tilting when u get bad beats lol
tycienne Posted 21 hours ago #5 Posted 21 hours ago You get dealt cards, bet in rounds, and the goal is to win chips either by having the best hand or convincing everyone else to fold. tbh it's simpler to learn by playing a few free hands than reading rules
Kyrvar Posted 21 hours ago #6 Posted 21 hours ago Yeah, the other comment nailed it – just grab a free app and play like 10 hands, you'll pick it up way faster than reading rules.
deckhunter Posted 21 hours ago #7 Posted 21 hours ago yeah nvm all that just hop on a free table and play a few hands lol ?
vyntia Posted 19 hours ago #8 Posted 19 hours ago lost a full buyin once cus i didnt know a flush beas a straight
larsalan Posted 15 hours ago #9 Posted 15 hours ago are you trying to figure out the betting order or just what beats what, cuz thats the part that tripped me up most at first
Synkamia Posted 15 hours ago #11 Posted 15 hours ago i won my first pot last night with ace queen suited and now im hooked
Autumnkaerra Posted 14 hours ago #13 Posted 14 hours ago are you looking to play for fun or actually tryna learn the math behind it too cuz the hand rankings are just the start
emberorax Posted 10 hours ago #15 Posted 10 hours ago bro its basically a battle of who has the strongest 5 card combo except half the game is convincing everyone else yours is trash or the nuts lol the adrenaline when both hole cards hit the flop is actually unmatched
pyxlia Posted 9 hours ago #16 Posted 9 hours ago Everyone says it's about bluffing and reading people but honestly most beginners lose because they play way too many hands, folding is literally the hardest skill to learn.
vaelosenne9 Posted 9 hours ago #17 Posted 9 hours ago honestly the rush you get from catching someone bluffing on the river is unmatched especially in texas holdem when you know the pot odds were barely in your favor
lyraorenne Posted 8 hours ago #18 Posted 8 hours ago I folded pocket aces preflop once just to see if I could and the table lost teir minds. The simple version is you make the best five card hand but most of the real game is just not letting your curiosity get the better of you.
pyxenora Posted 4 hours ago #19 Posted 4 hours ago Honestly the way I explain it to newbies is you get two cards and try to match them with the five on the table to make the best hand possible but the real trick is half the time youre playing the other people not the cards. I remember a hand last week where I had nothhing at all just a nine high and the board was scary but I kept raising small and the other guy folded what he later said was a pair of kings so sometimes the cards dont even matter.
Ivshengyn708 Posted 3 hours ago #21 Posted 3 hours ago My granddad tried explaining poker to me once but got so miffed wehn I checked a pair of kings that he gave up and just mumbled "you either get 5 cards that beat their 5 cards
cedarumelle Posted 1 hour ago #22 Posted 1 hour ago it’s less about cards tbh more a patience contest imo
