Please, make it easier to unlock chat

hello, I am suggesting a lower amount of money needing to be spent to unlock chat, maybe $10. as without a feel for the community or if I like the game or not yet I don't want to deposit a lot yet as I really don't have much, I'm not a wealthy person but I have little bits of money here and there. I'm sure I am not the only new player that feels this way and with 5 faucet it feels almost impossible to unlock chat and truly get a feel for the community. new players don't have access to rain so it's not as if that's a money source for them before they unlock chat. I feel like this might draw more players towards the site as some players don't want to deposit heaps to feel like they are apart of this community. i understand the reasoning behind such a high paywall. its to stop people creating alts without a problem, but i feel like there are better ways to solve that problem.

Hey. $ 100 is the minimum amount needed to open access to the chat. This does not mean that you need to make a deposit of this size. You need to make a wagered of bets on this amount. Crane is designed to test the game. You can be an active participant in the forum, participate in challenges and giveaways and get some amount Satoshi. It is not necessary to consider rain as a source of income, it is simply the support of players for their activity in the chat.

I think is for players thats really interested in playing in this site..no one in my knowledge actually suggested about this.. but like other sites there are requirements before you can reek the rewards that might come finishing that requirement..

If you are so eager to join the chat and the other activities in Stake which you currently cant, you can make a small depo to reach the min wagered amount really quick.

Trying to do it only with faucet you are losing the more valuable thing which is your own time. Its your choice of course.

I think that with just a 1 dollar depo you can very quickly and easily get the required min wager requirement.

You can think its like paying a ticket to be able to watch a movie in the cinema, with the difference that here you can get your money back, or even more, and you will get entertainment too.

The current min wager requirement was changed recently, and the new value looks good so far.

We've been through many phases when it comes to this. At one point we didn't have any wagered requirements in order to get the chatting privilege, then after abuse started, we increased to a certain amount ($1), but that didn't prevent abusers creating dozens of accounts in a few minutes. That also created an issue with muted users that would create many new accounts right after the mute and accessed the chat quite easily. Some of the mods had to face abuse after they muted certain users, where they would create new accounts over and over again, and spam them with PM, then make a revenge in the chat and so on...

In order to avoid that and many other types of abuse (especially now when there is a RainBot that's strictly related to rolling AND chatting), we had to make a step further and increase the required wagered amount in order to "unlock" chat as a feature. It's not as difficult as it sounds, but it does require a bit of commitment and staying around for some time before you start to participate in the chat. 

In the meantime, forum is available to you, you can get to know the community here as well. Challenges are available to you after only 20 posts (but make sure they are meaningful, not spam), so I'm sure you will wager enough in no time.

I also had this same feeling, but I'm glad you are the one who opened the topic about it OP.

I have been playing on Stake for quite a while, over 2 weeks and I am still far away from the min wager for chatting.  My reasons are less about rain and more about socialization.  With no PVP games on Stake, the casino can feel lonely.  It's not so bad that we can see the chat, but at the same time it's almost like a tease. So many times I have wanted to reply to someone and been unable to.  I play at other sites that also have requirements for unlocking chat, and so far Stake is the only one I have not met.  I am determined to though!

I know the reasoning is to weed out the spamming rain leechers, but another way to do and still allow chat access sooner is by disallowing anyone under a certain level or wager amount to catch rains.  I will note there are times where I can still see people uselessly commenting in chat with such random responses meanwhile there are people who actually want to participate in the socialization aspect of chat and not even concerned with the rain.

One thing I do not understand and bothers me more than anything related to the chat restriction is that people can PM me first, but even then I still can not PM them back!  I am literally restricted from any form of socialization at the Casino, even if I and another person have added each other to our friend's list, even though they contact me first I still can't PM reply to them? That is a little harsh and the most frustrating of all Stake.

I will have cake the day I unlock chat in celebration.  I will say that every time I wager it's with the extra goal in mind of getting full access to chat LOL.

One day, one day.  I actually took the time to convert all my wagers of other currencies to give me a more accurate look at where I stand.. Still super far away LOL.  It would be nice though if there was some way to keep track of the progress made towards that wager, like when the error pops up when you try to chat and it tells you the total wager needed, I'm not sure if it's how much I have LEFT to wager or if that's just the end goal for total overall wagered.. The message seems to always state the same amount needed so I assume it's not actually showing me what I have left to go... That would be nice.

You are very tired, and you arrive 1 hour late to other things you had to do.

thank you maverick and irena for explaining. the last thing i want is any mod thats just doing their job to be abused so i understand the reasoning behind it. i will work my hardest to unlock it and then you guys will see me in chat :). apologies for bothering yous.

You didn't bother us at all!  You had a question/doubt, and that's why we are here, to help out and to give some deeper explanations about stuff that don't seem like that from a user's perspective. We are aware of that.
