That happened to me when I dropped a clumsy joke in chat right after a bad run and the timing made it look real offensive even though I didnt mean it that way. Honestly just waiting it out is the worst part but support eventually lightened the mute when they saw I was genuinly not trying to stir things up.

ah man that stings, i almost got myself in trouble during the last world cup qualifiers match, was typing so fast after that crazy last minute goal and nearly said some stuff i would regret. the chat mods are super strict but i guess they have to be with how many people are on there

Sometimes opening a small private chat tab with support while you wait is a good way to ask about the standard mute length so you are not refreshing blindly for hours. That cleared up a lot of confusion for me when I had a similar slip last month.

yeah i learned that the hard way too once, now i literally force myself to close the tab and go make some tea if im tilted. the cooldown does more for your judgement than the actual timeout imo
