ayontop Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM #1 Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM That’s one of the reasons I enjoy poker. No matter how a session goes, there’s always something to learn. Sometimes it’s about making better decisions, and other times it’s about knowing when to be patient. I’ve found that staying disciplined is far more rewarding than chasing every hand. Waiting for the right opportunity has saved me from a lot of unnecessary losses, and it makes the wins feel even better when they come. Poker is a game of skill, patience, and experience. The more you play, the more you understand the importance of making smart choices instead of relying on luck alone. Good luck to everyone at the tables. Hope you make the right reads and enjoy some great hands! 🍀♠️
peltki68 Posted 22 hours ago #2 Posted 22 hours ago So true, learning when to just fold and wait for a better spot was a game changer for me too. The wins hit different when you know you earned them with patience rather than luck.
thornix2 Posted 22 hours ago #3 Posted 22 hours ago Discipline over chasing is what separates the consistent players from the rest tbh, well said
Ladyseo3 Posted 21 hours ago #4 Posted 21 hours ago Discipline really is the unsung hero at the tables, feels way better to walk away knowing you played solid rather than just getting lucky.
fakashi Posted 21 hours ago #5 Posted 21 hours ago yeah discipline over chasing is what keeps you consistent fr 🤞
sandki Posted 20 hours ago #6 Posted 20 hours ago Patience at the table pays off way more than chasing every draw, and it took me way too long to figure that out lol. Solid take, gl to you too 🙌
morthus Posted 19 hours ago #7 Posted 19 hours ago The patience part hit home for me too, sometimes the best play is just folding and waiting for a spot you actually know you've got the edge in.
Ravenva Posted 19 hours ago #8 Posted 19 hours ago Discipline is the real edge tbh, anyone can get lucky but sticking to solid decisions session after session is where the real growth happens.
Zylori Posted 19 hours ago #9 Posted 19 hours ago So true about the patience part, folding a marginal hand feels boring in the moment but looking back it's usually what kept my stack intact for when the real spots showed up.
nalorora Posted 18 hours ago #10 Posted 18 hours ago ngl the "knowing when to be patient" part is the hardest skill to actually stick with in the moment, but it's always the one that separates losing sessions from breaking even.
vdaling Posted 18 hours ago #11 Posted 18 hours ago ngl waiting for better spots instead of chasing has been huge for me tbh ?
hal7ljmzyq Posted 17 hours ago #12 Posted 17 hours ago facts bro, sticking to ur game plan always pays off long term ? imo
autumnen Posted 6 hours ago #13 Posted 6 hours ago do you keep any kind of notes on your sessions to track those spots where patience paid off? i started jotting down a few things and it's wild how much it reinforces staying disciplined
cedardra Posted 3 hours ago #14 Posted 3 hours ago do you find it easier to stay patient when youre already up for the session or does the score not really matter for your discipline? i struggle more when im down a bit tbh
wrenalesse Posted 59 minutes ago #16 Posted 59 minutes ago totally agree that discipine beats chasing, one weird trick i use is muting the table chat completely so i dont get tilted by randoms and start playing too many hands
emberayarium Posted 32 minutes ago #17 Posted 32 minutes ago do you ever review your folds after a session to see if that discpline was on point or just me?
emberaytos Posted 25 minutes ago #18 Posted 25 minutes ago Do you find it harder to stay discipliend in cash games compared to tournaments or is it about the same for you?
