  • Switzerland and Morocco both advanced through grueling penalty shootouts in the knockout stages. As sports science and goalkeeper analysis reach new heights, shootouts have become less about luck and more about psychological warfare and precise execution. Who is currently the most feared penalty-saving goalkeeper left in the tournament?

Bono’s been unreal in these moments, the way he reads strikers before they even plant their foot is cold.

Bono’s save against Spain was pure instinct but you can tell Morocco’s whole setup drills the mental side to death, he’s the guy nobody wants to face rn.

Bono’s definitely built different in those moments, but Livaković has that same aura after that Japan performance. Both are scary to face rn.

Bono the clear standout but Livakovic read three Japanese pens like a book, that gave me chills watching him zone in. Unreal how these guys turned shootouts into something way more personal.

Bono stopping three Spanish penalties was pure cinema, his reeading of the run ups feels almost predictive at this point. I threw a little on Morocco to win on penalties at +400 before that round and watching him deliver felt like stealing candy from a bookie.

Bono has that unsettling calm about him, almost like the pressure transfeers entirely to the kicker. Livakovic covers the bottom corners so methodically though, makes you wonder if it is more system than instinct.

Honestly saw Livakovic in the Croatia v Japan shootout and the way he read Minamino's stutter step then low dive left just wrecked my nerves, like he already knew where it was going before the foot touched the ball

bono just stands there and you already feel likke youve lost, that kind of presence is hard to coach. livakovic rads the hips better but doesnt have the same intimidating stillness that makes kickers second guess everything
