morthni Posted 17 hours ago #3 Posted 17 hours ago Tbh best way is watching some YouTube vids for the basics then just jump into low stakes – you'll pick it up way faster than reading walls of text
zylrel Posted 16 hours ago #4 Posted 16 hours ago fr just learn hand rankings first, then play micro stakes and you'll figure out the rest as you go
sydneyxen Posted 16 hours ago #5 Posted 16 hours ago ngl watching a few rounds of a streamer playing low stakes helped me way more than any guide, you see the thinking in real time
luxess Posted 15 hours ago #6 Posted 15 hours ago Just start with Texas Hold'em, learn what beats what, and don't throw your chips away on 2-7 offsuit. You'll lose a bit at first but that's the tuition lol
Pyxzyl Posted 15 hours ago #7 Posted 15 hours ago honestly yeah just youtube "beginner poker hands" and then hop on some play-money tables, you'll get the flow after a few rounds
irisyn066 Posted 4 hours ago #8 Posted 4 hours ago i lost my first ever hand with pocket aces cuz i didnt know a flush beats trips, learnt that real quik
auroraenva Posted 4 hours ago #9 Posted 4 hours ago yeah just learn the hand rankings and jump into the cheapest tables, youll lose a bunch but thats how it clicks my prsonal rule is never play when im tired, made some dumbass all ins after midnight and woke up with an empty account lol
umbraoreon Posted 3 hours ago #10 Posted 3 hours ago I folded a straight once because I misread my cards, so double check before you fold.
nyxriin363 Posted 3 hours ago #11 Posted 3 hours ago you thinking of learning for home games with mates or just online micro stakes to start? the vibes are pretty different
clotrivi Posted 2 hours ago #12 Posted 2 hours ago I'd skip the play money tables entirely, they just teach bad habits because nobody cares about losing fake chips. Jump straight into the lowest real money games so you actually feel the sting and learn to fold properly.
krxaeienne Posted 1 hour ago #13 Posted 1 hour ago I remember my first live game I was so focused on trying to look cool shuffling chips I didnt even notice I had a full house until the dealer pointed it out, talk about tunnel vision. Just start with the hand rankings and fold a ton, youll be surprised how far that gets you.
ryokga19e7g Posted 1 hour ago #14 Posted 1 hour ago yeah just dive in with play money tables first, no cap it's the quickest way to get teh flow without losing cash ?
