JCR Posted 20 hours ago #1 Posted 20 hours ago All Referee Crew for France-Morocco Match is from Argentina, do you think this will affect the outcome of today match?
ryxra Posted 18 hours ago #4 Posted 18 hours ago Nah, refs are pros, they’ll call it fair. But the timing is funny after that final for sure lol
Emberarium Posted 17 hours ago #5 Posted 17 hours ago Nah, they're professional refs, not fans with a grudge. But after that World Cup final drama, the optics are kinda hilarious tbh
lorvi Posted 15 hours ago #7 Posted 15 hours ago Tbh after that wild final, it's hard not to side-eye it a little but they're pros, they'll call it straight
Sxood Posted 15 hours ago #8 Posted 15 hours ago I don’t think it was it just happend to be very Argentina heavy
woonmia Posted 15 hours ago #9 Posted 15 hours ago Nah they’ll be fine, but let’s be real, the internet’s gonna explode if there’s even one dodgy call
kovani Posted 15 hours ago #10 Posted 15 hours ago Nah they'll call it fair, but you just know the conspiracy theories are already loaded and ready to fire if a single call goes France's way lol
kendallixvi Posted 13 hours ago #11 Posted 13 hours ago theyll call it down the middle cause their careers are on the line but honestly i trust neutral refs more than picking europeans for a game with a european team, less subconscious bias even if theyre all argentinian
ravenon6 Posted 13 hours ago #12 Posted 13 hours ago watched a copa america game a while back where the ref crew was all from brazil and they let so much physical stuff go it basically turned into a wrestling match, was super annoying to watch tbh. if these argentine refs let the game flow without too many soft whistles i think it actually favors morocco a little more but who knows really
dosery Posted 13 hours ago #13 Posted 13 hours ago Imagine if France gets a soft pen and the whole timeline just lights up haha
fAdetEBUh8 Posted 13 hours ago #14 Posted 13 hours ago i doubt it?ll affect it much, but the drama potential is wild ?i doubt it?ll affect it much, but the drama potential is wild ?i doubt it?ll affect it much, but the drama potential is wild ?
lilyayver Posted 12 hours ago #15 Posted 12 hours ago argentina refs for france vs morocco feels like betting on chaos, cant wait to see the first var check
Kovaoslyn Posted 9 hours ago #17 Posted 9 hours ago Honestly i think people are overthinking it. Rather have a crew from a neutral country like Argentina than someone from UEFA where there could be subtle favoritism toward France without even realizing. Worst case they overcompensate and call it too tight but that beats a ref letting everything slide for one side.
irisorienne Posted 9 hours ago #18 Posted 9 hours ago I would rather have a neutral crew from Argentina than a UEFA squad who might subconsciously lean toward France, at laest this way any chaos feels more fair.
Frankioress Posted 9 hours ago #19 Posted 9 hours ago It's basically a soaap opera script at this point.
Zyxumlyn Posted 8 hours ago #20 Posted 8 hours ago Checking the betting line movement after ref assignments is always a sneaky way to spot value before the books fuly adjust.
Syltia Posted 2 hours ago #22 Posted 2 hours ago All Argie refs for France vs Morocco feels like they just picked the most neutral place on a map and ran with it
zylenlyn Posted 2 hours ago #23 Posted 2 hours ago Has the referee from Argentina ever handled a match involving Frrance before or is this totally new territory for him? Just wondering if there’s any past history we can peek at.
vycarvi759 Posted 2 hours ago #24 Posted 2 hours ago It's probably the safest call they could make honestly, picking officials from way outside the UEFA bubble where the biases are less baked in. Let's just hope they don't flip a coin to decide on a penalty or something.
krxenne3 Posted 2 hours ago #25 Posted 2 hours ago I get why they went outside UEFA to avoid bias, but Argentina's got their own history with France after the World Cup final, no? Feels like a bit of a weird choice, makes you wonder if any Moroccan players have history with these specific refs from South American competitions.
