nyltha2 Posted July 9 #2 Posted July 9 Duke-UNC in basketball is the one that always delivers, no matter the records.
ladyast Posted July 9 #3 Posted July 9 Michigan–Ohio State. The hate runs so deep even the fans can't agree on what to call it.
ladyva Posted July 9 #5 Posted July 9 Iron Bowl hits different because it literally divides the whole state. Duke-UNC is classic but 'Bama-Auburn is pure chaos every single year.
nyxyn Posted July 9 #6 Posted July 9 Iron Bowl really does split families in half down here, can't beat that kind of energy
homoique Posted July 9 #7 Posted July 9 Iron Bowl for sure. The fact that people down there lose their minds for 365 days a year over one game is something else.
sydneywyn0 Posted July 9 #8 Posted July 9 Iron Bowl all day. That rivalry literally takes over the entire state, not just on game day but year-round.
lyraeon Posted July 9 #9 Posted July 9 Iron Bowl takes it for me too. The whole state basically shuts down for a week, and I've seen grown adults refuse to speak to each other over it — nothing else comes close to that level of pettiness.
rexoria4 Posted July 9 #10 Posted July 9 The Iron Bowl is the only answer here. People literally plan their weddings around it so they don't interfere with the game, that's next level obsession.
Vyxora Posted July 9 #11 Posted July 9 Nah, Duke-UNC basketball clears everything else. The Crazies, the history, the fact it’s two elite programs eight miles apart — it’s just different.
tweedit Posted July 9 #12 Posted July 9 iron bowl gotta be the goat the family splits make it hit different fr ?
fAdetEBUh8 Posted July 9 #13 Posted July 9 duke-unc is always fire, but no cap, the iron bowl got that intense vibe that can't be beat ?
kovaanund6 Posted July 10 #16 Posted July 10 honestly if we're talking pure dysfunction and pettiness the egg bowl just feels right, those games have zero national title implications and everyones still ready to fight a family member over a fumble.
Zyxosyth Posted July 10 #17 Posted July 10 The fact that NCCAA rivalry games can literally ruin Thanksgiving dinner is something pro sports will never match.
sam16c1e Posted July 10 #18 Posted July 10 yeah the iron bowl is the goat fr, that rivalry gets realer than most games ?
seleneayyn Posted July 10 #19 Posted July 10 Duke vs UNC is legendary for the star power, but I'm taking the Egg Bowl every time because the pure unhinged chaos of two fanbases fighting over nothing except decades of grudges just feels more authentic.
yukiororia576 Posted July 10 #20 Posted July 10 For me it's always Duke versus UNC because the entire arena feels like it's vibrating with decades of pettiness the second the ball goes up.
vexirund Posted July 10 #21 Posted July 10 Duke UNC carries itself with a weight that a lot of these others just never will. The history between those two programs sits so thick in the air that even a random January game feels like it matters morre than most conference finals elsewhere.
legacyally85 Posted July 10 #23 Posted July 10 Michigan Ohio State has too much history to ignore, that game defines whole seasons for both teams whle Duke UNC feels more like a cool vibe rivalry.
ryopj9w3bp Posted July 11 #24 Posted July 11 iron bowl got my vote too bro, taht game is pure madness every year no cap ? ?
Larslor Posted July 11 #25 Posted July 11 I used to think Duke UNC was the only answer until I sat through an Iron Bowl with my Alabama relatives a few years back, and my uncle literally threw a remote throuugh the drywall after the kick six. The sheer emotional damage in that room was way more intense than any basketball game I have ever watched.
