luxarique Posted yesterday at 10:06 AM #29 Posted yesterday at 10:06 AM My grandpa always told me Laver would have crushed modern players if his left arm never got wrecked by a childhood injury.
wrenolxen Posted 23 hours ago #31 Posted 23 hours ago My uncle met Djokovic once, said his focus was terrifying.
nixc082o Posted 22 hours ago #32 Posted 22 hours ago djokovic got the stats no cap but fed made it look like art ?
seleneevyx96 Posted 22 hours ago #33 Posted 22 hours ago Borg once missed a volley but still won the point lol
ravenollyn Posted 19 hours ago #35 Posted 19 hours ago Honestly if you are really trying to settle this for yourself just pull up the stats on hard court slam wins and head to head records at each major, because the eye test alone will trick you every time. Djokovic basically turned the Australian Open into his personal living room and nobody else even comes close to taht level of dominance at a single venue.
gladeynyx Posted 18 hours ago #37 Posted 18 hours ago Nadal on clay was just unfair to everynoe else.
clotalwyn Posted 17 hours ago #38 Posted 17 hours ago do you think the answer changes if we judge by peak level vs career longevity, like who would win if they all played each other in their absolute prime form
vexique Posted 4 hours ago #39 Posted 4 hours ago Every era had different courts and equipment so any GOAT conversation kind of just becomes a circular argument about which criteria you value more.
selenelia Posted 2 hours ago #40 Posted 2 hours ago Honestly if you go back and watch how Laver played on those old grass courts with that tiny wooden racket, the control he had is just stupid, modern guys with their hyper carbon strings still can't match the touch he got on volleys.
luxelax61 Posted 1 hour ago #41 Posted 1 hour ago i feel like the real argument never evne starts cus everyone just picks their fav era and digs in, nobody ever asks what "greatest" actually means which is kinda wild
