I remember getting stuck in a massive crowd leaving the stadium in Russia and some local juts pulled out a guitar and started a singalong in the tunnel.

I met a Brazilian fan in Qatar who had saved up for seven years just to see his team live and he cried when the anthem played. The stadiums in Canada feel more spread out but nothing beats that kind of raw emotion packed into a compact city like Doha.

i don't really think any of them has done a "best" job per se, qatar had polish but felt soulless, while canada feels more genuine even if the footy atmosphere seems a bit quieter.
