horatiosam Posted yesterday at 04:33 PM #1 Posted yesterday at 04:33 PM Which sports rule would you change if you could?
tyxarium Posted yesterday at 05:21 PM #2 Posted yesterday at 05:21 PM Offside in soccer, I'd make it only count if the whole body is ahead of the defender tbh. Would make games way more exciting. horatiosam 1
strikeax Posted yesterday at 05:29 PM #3 Posted yesterday at 05:29 PM Make basketball charge calls only count if the defender is fully set before the offensive player gathers the ball — too many flops rewarding bail‑out defense right now.
syleon Posted yesterday at 05:51 PM #4 Posted yesterday at 05:51 PM I’d get rid of the stupid rule in tennis where you lose the point if your hat falls off mid-rally
deckhunter Posted yesterday at 06:20 PM #5 Posted yesterday at 06:20 PM id scrap the challenge system in tennis fr too many delays for nothing 😂 bro
voxlyn Posted yesterday at 06:27 PM #6 Posted yesterday at 06:27 PM I'd change the overtime shootout in hockey to a 3-on-3 continuous play until someone scores, no shooters — way more fun to watch
nyxyn Posted 22 hours ago #7 Posted 22 hours ago Scrap the "umpire's call" in cricket for LBWs. If the tech says it's clipping the stumps, it's out — none of this half-and-half nonsense.
doselyn52 Posted 22 hours ago #8 Posted 22 hours ago I'd let hockey players fight without helmets on — bare knuckle, no visor. The staged fights with buckets falling off just look goofy
onyxvar6 Posted 22 hours ago #9 Posted 22 hours ago Make goalies serve their own penalties in hockey tbh, would add so much chaos and actually punish teams for obstruction calls.
ryxssa Posted 22 hours ago #10 Posted 22 hours ago Make boxing rounds 5 minutes instead of 3, feels like they barely get going before the bell rings tbh
nylan2 Posted 21 hours ago #11 Posted 21 hours ago I’d make the offside rule in football simpler — just use the feet position and ignore all this armpit nonsense, would kill half the VAR debates overnight
starlord991 Posted 21 hours ago #13 Posted 21 hours ago id ban all punts in nfl after halftime ngl games would get way more exciting ?
Seleneon Posted 21 hours ago #14 Posted 21 hours ago Ban all punts after halftime would be wild lol, just constant 4th down attempts and chaos every drive. I’d actually watch more NFL if that happened.
tome5wnp5l Posted 20 hours ago #15 Posted 20 hours ago tbh yo honestly i?d love to see baseball with a time limit per inning, no more marathon games ?tbh yo honestly i?d love to see baseball with a time limit per inning, no more marathon games ?tbh yo honestly i?d love to see baseball with a time limit per inning, no more marathon games ?
dosena1 Posted 20 hours ago #16 Posted 20 hours ago Id stop basketball games for ads honestly, klls the flow
Umbraalora2 Posted 16 hours ago #18 Posted 16 hours ago soccer could use a rule where the clock stops when the ball is out of play, the current system just invites time wasting and nobody really knows how much added time is fair. feels like a small fix that would save a lot of the fake injuries near the end.
seleneaely Posted 15 hours ago #19 Posted 15 hours ago I would get rid of the designated hitter rule and make pitchers hit again, it adds so much more strategy and weird moments. Do you think any sport actually has the perfect rulebook already or is there always something that needs tweaking?
Kovaoslyn Posted 14 hours ago #22 Posted 14 hours ago Taking the cap off Olympic basketball scoring so they can actually run up the score would be chaos.
emberarys49 Posted 10 hours ago #23 Posted 10 hours ago I’d make tennis let serves count as in play, lost a rec match once because my opponent kept getting lucky net dribblers
zylaemia77 Posted 9 hours ago #24 Posted 9 hours ago would you keep the change for pro leagues only or let it triclke down to kids playing in the park too
wineaytia Posted 9 hours ago #25 Posted 9 hours ago I’d remove the mercy rule frmo college baseball so a powerhouse like LSU could just bury teams by 25 runs and actually let the bats stay hot all game, especially with run line bets that would make things so much more interesting. It feels soft to cut the game early when you’ve got momentum and the dugout is hyped up.
