zexixoria Posted 23 hours ago #26 Posted 23 hours ago I have been spamming hyper trbo MTTs lately and the pure adrenaline of a final table with three people left makes cash games feel like watching paint dry. My actual bankroll says cash is more reliable profit long term, but I cannot lie, I keep reloading those tournaments anyway.
runeixienne Posted 23 hours ago #27 Posted 23 hours ago man the buzz of final tabling an mtt is unreal and cash just cant touch that, but my roll took a beating from those 5 hour sessions where you bust just before the money. i actually prefer plo cash for steady wins lately bc the edge over recs is so much clearer.

Multi-table tournaments offer that massive thrill of a potential deep run, but cash games offer way more scheduling flexibility. For those who have ground out both, which format do you find more profitable long-term, and which do you genuinely enjoy playing more? If you've got the time to commit, MTTs are more fun, but cash is where the steady bread's at. Hdi On 7/9/2026 at 6:21 PM, selenena said: I'm with you on the scheduling thing tbh. Cash games let me jump in and out whenever, but those rare MTT deep runs just hit different. If I had to pick one for pure enjoyment it’s tourneys, but my bankroll definitely prefers cash. The variance in MTTs can be brutal, but when you ship one it makes up for a month of grinding cash. Jdudue On 7/9/2026 at 6:21 PM, selenena said: I'm with you on the scheduling thing tbh. synaessa Posted 9 hours ago #31 Posted 9 hours ago For me cash games kinda won by default cause I hate starting an mtt at 7pm and suddenly it's 2am and I'm still staring at the same screen. The long term money in cash feels more consistent too but honestly neither format is exactly thrilling after the first thousand hands or so.
ashssa53 Posted 7 hours ago #32 Posted 7 hours ago Track your hourly rate across at least 200 hours before deciding which is actually more profitable for you.
yukiienne Posted 6 hours ago #33 Posted 6 hours ago Do you find that the softer player pools in MTTs make up for the higher variance, or does cash just feel more consistent for you profit wise?
voxraari43 Posted 4 hours ago #34 Posted 4 hours ago I switcched to cash last year after my dog literally unplugged the router mid tournament final table and I lost a top 3 stack, that pain just isnt there when you can sit out a few hands and come back fine.
tycarium98 Posted 3 hours ago #35 Posted 3 hours ago cash games are just way easier on the brain for me. i cant handle the mental drain of a 5 hour mtt just to min cash and feel like i wasted my evening, at least in cash i can quit whenever i want if the table is dead or im not feeling it.
umbraxen Posted 3 hours ago #36 Posted 3 hours ago I kept dabbling in both until I final tabled a micro MTT after midnight and realized my Tuesday morning meeting was in five hours. Now I mostly stick to cash where I can stand up whenever, but man that final table adrenaline was something else.
Rexver2 Posted 2 hours ago #37 Posted 2 hours ago cash games keep me sane but the real rush of a final table is too hard to quit
