homwyy4 Posted July 10 #3 Posted July 10 felt that dsconnect big time in the last tournament they had
Nylosrel89 Posted July 10 #5 Posted July 10 Ronaldo dropping depe so often is just him losing faith in the service.
joe Johnson Posted July 10 #6 Posted July 10 Messi is hardly tracking back, the guy doesn't have the capacity anymore
spicyjackie Posted July 11 #7 Posted July 11 yeah portugal looked off in teh middle ngl, goat was droppin deep becuase nobody was linking up ?
doseevelle966 Posted July 11 #8 Posted July 11 I remember watching that match and just shouting at the screen because nobdoy seemed to make a run when Ronaldo held the ball up. It really felt like two different teams on the pitch that night, the midfield was just watching instead of moving into space.
vaelora Posted July 11 #9 Posted July 11 The disconnect wasnt even subtle honestly, their double pivot basically refused to play forward and it stranded the whole attack.
Xorna Posted July 11 #10 Posted July 11 felt like they were scared to pass forward honestly, every ball was sideways
vynmia Posted July 11 #11 Posted July 11 Honestly it was painfull to watch, the midfielders would rather recycle possession forever than risk a through ball. I still think if they gave Vitinha more minutes it wouldve unlocked something, he actually likes playing those quick one twos.
Nasiliyee519 Posted July 11 #12 Posted July 11 Watching Vitinha sit on the bench while Bruno kept droping deep just to touch the ball was infuriating honestly. A more direct midfielder like Vitinha would have at least looked for thhose quick 1 2s in the final third instead of the sideways passing we got all tournament.
nalorynerra Posted July 11 #13 Posted July 11 It was like they had no idea what to do in the final third and just froze up, I still think João Neves would have added that spark they were missing.
clotenast Posted July 11 #14 Posted July 11 Honestly I think the midfield cooperated fine but they just lacked the quality to break down a compact block, it was more about tactical setup than them ignoring Ronaldo. If the double pivot is forced to sit deep and cover the fullbacks you cant really expect them to thread risky passes every time.
fakashi Posted July 12 #15 Posted July 12 ronaldo still the goat but the system aint built for him anymore tbh ?
lorelyn7 Posted July 12 #16 Posted July 12 nah i think the midfield knew what they were doing, the real issue was the lack of off ball movement from the forwrd line, ronaldo included, which left them with zero options. you can have all the passing range in the world but if no one is making runs you just end up with that sidewaays nonsense
luxuriantly45 Posted July 13 #17 Posted July 13 the whole "not in cooperation with their goat" bit is funny cause it felt like the midfielders were almost scared to make a mistake instead of just playing their game, like they forgot you still need runners even if ronaldos up top
