What’s the Biggest Mistake You Made That Actually Improved Your Gambli

Most people only talk about their biggest wins, but I think the biggest losses often teach the most valuable lessons.

For me, one of the hardest lessons was realizing that increasing bet sizes after a losing streak doesn't magically improve the odds. It usually just increases the damage when things continue going wrong.

I'm curious about everyone else's experiences:

What was the biggest mistake you made while gambling?

How much did it cost you?

What lesson did you learn from it?

Did it actually make you a better player in the long run?

Whether it's poor bankroll management, chasing losses, overconfidence after a big win, or simply not understanding a game properly, share your story.

Sometimes the most expensive lessons become the most valuable ones.

My worst one was ignoring the house edge on a live game I barely knew and just clicking buttons because the dealer was fast and chat was hyped up. Buurned through a couple hundred in minutes and realized later I had no clue about the side bet rules, so now I always read the info tab first even if it feels boring.

oh man that part about raising bets after a losing streak really hit home, i did that once on a bad blackjack session and it was like watching a slow motion car crash. i just kept thinking the next hand *had* to be the one and nope, just deeper in the hole. now i literally stand up and walk away after three losses in a row.

Mine was betting heavy on a soccer underdog because the odds looked fat and I was sure the favorites were exhausted, didn't even check the lineup news. They got rotated and got smashed, lost a stack taht day but now I actually read the prematch reports instead of just drooling over the payout.
