Bikinibum Posted Thursday at 06:44 PM #1 Posted Thursday at 06:44 PM Most people only talk about their biggest wins, but I think the biggest losses often teach the most valuable lessons. For me, one of the hardest lessons was realizing that increasing bet sizes after a losing streak doesn't magically improve the odds. It usually just increases the damage when things continue going wrong. I'm curious about everyone else's experiences: What was the biggest mistake you made while gambling? How much did it cost you? What lesson did you learn from it? Did it actually make you a better player in the long run? Whether it's poor bankroll management, chasing losses, overconfidence after a big win, or simply not understanding a game properly, share your story. Sometimes the most expensive lessons become the most valuable ones.
Nalorenne Posted yesterday at 01:35 PM #3 Posted yesterday at 01:35 PM My worse was dropping $500 in an over under live bet on Liverpool match because I was so sure after a big win, now I stare at form guides for five minutes first.
fenikaro Posted 20 hours ago #4 Posted 20 hours ago ngl chasing losses was my dumbest move too, got smoked hard and now i just lower stakes or log off lol ? ez
Thornaeys Posted 16 hours ago #6 Posted 16 hours ago i learned the hard way too and now i treat every bet like a boring utility bill i just set the amount and forget it
tomh1eqh8y Posted 13 hours ago #8 Posted 13 hours ago yeah bro mine was going all in after a heater thinking i was teh goat, lost it fast and now i cash out and chill ngl ?
lilyyth45 Posted 12 hours ago #9 Posted 12 hours ago Do you stil set a timer or something now after that big mistake, or just trust your gut?
ladyseo2 Posted 12 hours ago #10 Posted 12 hours ago that "not understanding a game properly" bit got me, lost a chunk on roulette when i didnt even know about the green zero lol
Thoxix75 Posted 7 hours ago #11 Posted 7 hours ago My worst one was ignoring the house edge on a live game I barely knew and just clicking buttons because the dealer was fast and chat was hyped up. Buurned through a couple hundred in minutes and realized later I had no clue about the side bet rules, so now I always read the info tab first even if it feels boring.
Zyxerra7 Posted 7 hours ago #12 Posted 7 hours ago oh man that part about raising bets after a losing streak really hit home, i did that once on a bad blackjack session and it was like watching a slow motion car crash. i just kept thinking the next hand *had* to be the one and nope, just deeper in the hole. now i literally stand up and walk away after three losses in a row.
irisixori74 Posted 3 hours ago #13 Posted 3 hours ago the OP mentions "sometime" at the end and honestly that one word says a lot about lessons that hit mid thought
norynlyn Posted 3 hours ago #14 Posted 3 hours ago Mine was betting heavy on a soccer underdog because the odds looked fat and I was sure the favorites were exhausted, didn't even check the lineup news. They got rotated and got smashed, lost a stack taht day but now I actually read the prematch reports instead of just drooling over the payout.
