meriari32 Posted July 11 #16 Posted July 11 Watched their match against the Netherlands back in October and the way Griezmann was just floating between the lines pulling strings was genuinely annoying to defend, you could see the Dutch midfield had no answer for it. Makes me think that coaching youth teams must be a nightmare now because every kid wants to play that same roving role without doing the defensive work first.

Left with a headache but also a grudging respect for how effortlessly they controlled the tempo.
voxora Posted July 11 #18 Posted July 11 I feel like people overrate France a bit based on raw talent alone, but their build up play can look really clunky against a well drilled low block. They still haven't really figured out how to control gammes without Kante covering every blade of grass.
