pearl342 Posted Thursday at 08:10 PM #1 Posted Thursday at 08:10 PM What is the whole thing with people having weird feelings towards each others
loron Posted Thursday at 09:24 PM #2 Posted Thursday at 09:24 PM tbh rivalries in football are kinda the whole point, without the drama and grudges it'd just be a bunch of dudes kicking a ball around
Ravenast Posted Thursday at 09:29 PM #3 Posted Thursday at 09:29 PM fr the rivalries and pure pettiness make it 10x more entertaining, imagine watching a derby with no bad blood
dinai21 Posted Thursday at 09:50 PM #4 Posted Thursday at 09:50 PM it's just tribal human nature playing out through sport, we pick sides and suddenly the other lot become the enemy for 90 minutes
Irisevxen Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM #5 Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM My mate still won't speak to his brother because of a dodgy penalty call back in the 2006 World Cup quarterfinal.
Vexkaori Posted 23 hours ago #6 Posted 23 hours ago my uncle once called off a wedding because the brides dad supported the wrong club and said it at the rehearsal dinner
ThunderWar Posted 15 hours ago #7 Posted 15 hours ago yeah it's tribal af bro, half the fun is teh petty hate no cap ?
ivoryver361 Posted 8 hours ago #8 Posted 8 hours ago The rivalries are intense but honestly I think the real weirdness is when fans turn on their own players after one bad game, that feels way more personal than hating the other club. At least when you despise the rivals it is exected and almost part of the ritual.
sophetoria9 Posted 8 hours ago #9 Posted 8 hours ago Last season I put a bet on Inter just because I was sick of Juve fans in the group chat, won easy money.
maxe34dtal3 Posted 7 hours ago #10 Posted 7 hours ago no cap yeah it's dumb but lowkey teh hate is what makes football hit different ngl ?
emberollor Posted 5 hours ago #11 Posted 5 hours ago I backed Napoli once purely because the Inter fans in the bar were getting way too loud about their clean sheet streak, and the look on their faces when Kvaratskhelia scoed was priceless. It was only a tenner but it honestly paid better than most sensible bets I've placed all year 😂
Adakolee Posted 5 hours ago #12 Posted 5 hours ago Football is very sweet and unpredictable sometimes tho .
MichlJoe Posted 4 hours ago #14 Posted 4 hours ago Football is like a game of luck I just tire for the ball sef
nalorora Posted 4 hours ago #15 Posted 4 hours ago My go to move when emotions run high is to just mute the group chat until the final whistle, saves me from saying something I will regret. Watching the game in peace with some snacks always hits better than arguing over a red card anyway.
Zylkaienne Posted 3 hours ago #17 Posted 3 hours ago If the tension ever feels too real I just switch the conversation to food bets like loser buys pizza and suddenly the vibe shifts from rivalry to jokes about toppings real quick.
sandienne0 Posted 3 hours ago #18 Posted 3 hours ago I get what you mean but I think sometimes it’s less about the players and more about how fans carry old grudges like a badge of honor, it can make things toxic over stuff that happened ages ago. Saying we’re all friends after feels a bit optimistic when you still see guys arguing about a ref call from 2006 lol.
umbraurna Posted 3 hours ago #19 Posted 3 hours ago Its actually funny how tribal the whole thing gets and its not even the players beefing wiht eachother usually its just us fans holding decade old anger for no real reason lol
jadeienne Posted 1 hour ago #20 Posted 1 hour ago I remember my uncle refusing to speak to his brother for a week after a disputed offside call.
