mdq5 Posted Thursday at 08:35 PM #1 Posted Thursday at 08:35 PM Is it possible for an African country to win the world cup? Africa could take the world by surpriseΒ
vexique Posted Thursday at 09:13 PM #2 Posted Thursday at 09:13 PM Morocco making that semi-final run showed itβs not a pipe dream anymore, squad depth and tactics are catching up fast. Team chemistry might just edge out the old guard in 2026.
selenelia Posted Thursday at 09:19 PM #3 Posted Thursday at 09:19 PM Morocco really flipped the script, didn't they? Feels like an African semifinalist is overdue at this point
Haventos Posted Thursday at 09:41 PM #4 Posted Thursday at 09:41 PM Morocco definitely proved it's not just talk anymore, their run was legit. With the expanded format and how fast some of these squads are developing, I wouldn't be shocked to see an African team in the final four again.
ravon Posted Thursday at 09:45 PM #5 Posted Thursday at 09:45 PM Morocco definitely opened the door, now itβs about who walks through it first. Senegal or Nigeria could easily cause chaos in that expanded bracket tbh
kazenssa Posted yesterday at 10:33 AM #6 Posted yesterday at 10:33 AM Honestly I think Senegal has a better shhot than Morocco next time round, their midfield is just more solid and they dont rely on one star. Morocco had that magic run but replicating it feels like a taller order when everyone knows your game now.
nylevtos Posted yesterday at 10:44 AM #7 Posted yesterday at 10:44 AM Wathed Senegal dismantle Brazil in a friendly last year and their defensive shape was nearly perfect.
autumneon Posted 7 hours ago #8 Posted 7 hours ago Nigeria could be the real dark horse if Osimhen stays fit and they sort out the keeper situation, that front line is scary fast on the counter. The 2026 bracket expansion basically hands a knockout stage spot to a few underdogs and thhen its just about catching fire at the right moment.
ladyenne Posted 6 hours ago #9 Posted 6 hours ago Nigeria got that raw pace on the break, way deadlier than what Senegal brings
vaeleon92 Posted 6 hours ago #10 Posted 6 hours ago An African team needs to avoid slow starts in group play because the expanded format still punishes dropped points early.
Synssa Posted 5 hours ago #12 Posted 5 hours ago Nigeriaβs raw counter attack power feels like the kind of chaos that could actually break through late in a tournament if they keep their heads. I just keep coming back to their defensive lapses though, feels like they always concede something soft right when theyβre gaining momentum.
tomh1eqh8y Posted 4 hours ago #13 Posted 4 hours ago ngl it aint crazy anymore, senegal or morocco could realy make a mad run if teh bracket falls nice ?
luxelax61 Posted 4 hours ago #14 Posted 4 hours ago Do you think the expanded format actually helps African teams more because there's less pressure in the gorup stage or does it just make the knockout path harder for a deep run?

Parrish Posted 4 hours ago #18 Posted 4 hours ago Argentina. I'll wouldn't support them, I rather France or anybody else win itΒ
Jadeori Posted 3 hours ago #20 Posted 3 hours ago cant see France doin it again feels more like an African fairytale tbh
