I actually think it was a solid penalty technique, his slow run up freezes the keeper every time. This one just didn't end up in the corner, bit unlucky if you ask me

Hoestly the whole stutter run up just looks like a guy second guessing himself mid sprint, you could see the keeper wasn't even buying it this time. At that level a penalty should at least make the goalie work a little harder.
