Not just in gambling—life in general.

Maybe it cost you money, time, an opportunity, a friendship, or something else you can't get back.

Looking back, what was the lesson?

And if you could go back and tell your younger self one thing before it happened, what would you say?

Sometimes the lessons that hurt the most end up being the ones we never forget.

Trusting a "friend" with a business idea without anything in writing cost me $15k and a 10-year friendship. I'd tell my younger self that contracts aren't about distrust, they're about clarity.

Tbh I’d tell younger me to stop being so generous with people who wouldn’t cross a puddle for me. Cost me way too much energy and a few friendships I should’ve let die sooner.

I once trusted a mechanic who was "a friend of a friend" and ended up paying double to fix the mess he made under the hood, taught me that loyalty discounts aren't worth a blown engine.

Hmm I dunno if I'd frame it that way. My mosst expensive moments weren't lessons exactly, more like random stuff I just had to accept and not beat myself up over forever.

biggest one for me was trusting people just becuase they felt like family, cost me time and bread ngl, i'd tell younger me set boundaries early no cap ?

would tell myself stop ignoring small physical pain and just go get it chcked early, messed up my back for life from a dumb gym move I thought would heal on its own

i totally get the "time" part being just as expensive as money cuz i spent years chasing a career path i hated thinking the payday would make up for it and it never did. younger me would get a slap and a "dont trade all your 20s for a job that makes you miserble every sunday night" tbh.

I think the real kicker is how some lessons cost you something you didnt even know you had until its gone, like a friendship that just quietly fades while you were busy chassing other things.

Man I dumped way too much cash into a parlay bet on the Eagles last season, had this whole combo built around Jalen Hurts rushing yards plus the over on total points, and they just fell apart in the second half. The rough part is I was so hyped after the first quarter I doubled my stake on a live bet instead of cashing out early. If I could jump back to that moment I’d scream just take the profit you dummy lol

My biggest sting was going all in on the Packers to cover a 7.5 spread against the Lions a couple years back, Rodgers threw a pick in the red zone late and I just sat there staring at my empty balance like a fool.

I tried to fix a leaky pipe in my old apartment at 2am with zero plimbing knowledge and flooded the entire kitchen, cost me a security deposit and a very angry landlord. If I could go back I'd tell my stubborn self to just shut the water main and call a professional the first time.

I learned that lending money to a close friend without a written agreement turns into a silent debt that costs you both the cash and the person, so now I just say "I cant afford it" even when I can
