MonsTerJOD Posted Thursday at 08:59 PM #1 Posted Thursday at 08:59 PM When playing poker on Stake, how much weight do you place on reading the betting patterns of anonymous opponents versus strictly playing solid GTO (Game Theory Optimal) cards? I've noticed a lot of players over-bet the river when missed draws hit. What are your biggest player pool exploits?
norynlyn Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM #2 Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM Fish minbet flop then shove river, easy fold no pair.
nigarium Posted 11 hours ago #3 Posted 11 hours ago ngl i lean pool reads over pure gto on stake, river overbets are usualy nutted or total air so i just pick better bluffcatch spots bro ? ?
havenique Posted 8 hours ago #4 Posted 8 hours ago I actually lean the other way and play closer to GTO, mostly cos people read way too much into those river overbets when half the player pool is just clicking buttons without any real logic. I mean sure if someone does it three times in a row you can adjust, but against a random anon I’d rather keep my calling range balanced than start hero folding just because the bet size feels sus.
Cedarlor1 Posted 7 hours ago #5 Posted 7 hours ago Patterns easily beat pure GTO here, tables are too splashy
Nyxxen Posted 7 hours ago #6 Posted 7 hours ago Funny you mention the missed draws thing, I've been printing by just snap calling those weird tiny river bets because half the time it's some busted gutshot giving up
lilyna Posted 7 hours ago #7 Posted 7 hours ago I once trapped a guy three orbits in a row who potted every time a flush came in, dude just refused to slow down.
Kovaarium275 Posted 5 hours ago #8 Posted 5 hours ago stake pool is like fish in a barrel, i just fold until they hand me their stack on some nonsense bluff
Kazki27 Posted 4 hours ago #9 Posted 4 hours ago Man I swear the 25NL zone pool punishes pure GTO so hard, you just wait for the guy who triple barrels 90% of his range on any connected board and stack him with second pair
luxioxen Posted 3 hours ago #10 Posted 3 hours ago honestly the biggest tip i got is note down when someone minraies turn it’s almsot always a monster hand theyre scared to lose value on i just fold 90% of my range there and wait for a better spot
sydneyorix Posted 1 hour ago #11 Posted 1 hour ago Do you think those river overbets are more weighted toward missed draws or random spew with marginal hands, like how often are you seeing them show up with second pair trying to buy the pot?
Irisurwyn Posted 1 hour ago #12 Posted 1 hour ago I get the appeal of folding to turn minraises but honestly that pool read is a bit too rigid for me, I've caught people doing that with pure air just because they saw some streamer do it and they think it looks strong. For the river overbet spot I lean way more on patterns than GTO because the anonymous dynamic makes the bluffs super transparent once you tag a few accounts.
xorurique277 Posted 1 hour ago #13 Posted 1 hour ago I lean way harder on spotting the pool’s river madness than sticking to pure GTO at these stakes.
