Can alonso turn Chelsea over a new leaf

I think he would have been counting on Cucurella a lot, while i don't see Xabi as a top top coach ruling him out is not an option. They can fight for all trophies in England with the only exclusion being the premier league.

alonso’s tactics suit a club with clear hierarchy and patience but chelsea’s baord panics after 3 bad results lol so probably another cycle repeats

I remember when Conte switched to a back three mid season and suddenly everyone said he was a genius, that whole shift only worked because the dressing room bought in fast. Hard to picture that happening now with how restless everything feels around the club.

I dunno mate I watched his Leverkusen side absolutely school Bayern in that cup final last season and the press was so coordinated but then I think about Chelsea's midfield losing shape every ten minutes and it just doesn't add up

the real test is if he can get palmer and nkunku linking properly without leaving caicedo stranded cos that midfield balance is a mess. i watched them under potter and it was the same stodgy sideways passing until someone lost it and got countered. maybe betting on them to score first then fade could be a decent angle early doors.

hard to see him performing miracles with that squad until they offload a few more and stop buying random kids mid season. i just want to see them string three passes together without someone limping off honestly

Dunno if he can fix the whole mess but I do think he'll make them less boring to watch at least, which is something after the last couple seasons of sideways passing.
