I see what you mean but I feel like calling it European power kind of overlooks how much technical flair came from the African players in that first half. Their creativity on the ball was just as crucial as any physical dominance.

I saw it clearly when I watched France paly Senegal in a friendly a couple years back, the French players had that structured buildup but you could feel the Senegalese flair whenever they broke on the counter.
