Winners Playing Victims

Something I see so often is a high roller popping into chat and acting surprised by the amount of attention they're getting compared to when they don't have a flame.

In a site chat filled with essentially random names, what did you expect? The majority of people here are motivated to get money even if they claim otherwise.

Don't get me wrong, I've experienced this too but the mentality that you're a victim because people didn't notice you beforehand is stupid. Why even come to chat unless you're just seeking attention?

Maybe I'm just ranting here, but I'm curious how you guys feel about this.

I also feel the same as you but there are some highrollers who rarely appear in chat because for them it only makes noise, and for those who are looking for attention I think he's just looking for victims to chat when he loses

Well, thats annoying, most high rollers are attention whores who just want to atract some beggars by saying stop pms and stuff like that while noone cant prevent it but them selfs. Anyways, I'm chatting like a lot these days while I've so much free time due to holidays but only a few friends replying or something. I actually remember a day when I was winning and tipped randomly around 0.03, had plenty of attention and spam, wasn't looking for attention anyways, just wanted to throw some of my winnings at the community. Literaly a day after people who I tipped around 0.003 or something couldn't reply with a hello or something, I wasn't expecting to but come on, fuck off.

Well it's a bit of a shame not to show off that hard-earned fire :D

When i got the fire once, i was happy and talked to people in the chat. Although i'm not bragging about it, I still want to show it off haha.  The attention i received that time let me felt great at the time, and i couldn't help but compare it to when i chat on the  channel. It's not about the alts and such that will make you feel bad, but when some loyal stake user that has been here for years start sucking up to you and spitting when you're poor.

I Let those alts send friend requests and beg all they want, the ignore button is always there and the mods and supports always mutes people that does that.

These types of people know they will get attention, and fake being surprised by it. This gives them even more attention from people trying to prove them wrong. The cycle just feeds into their attention cravings...

but not all highroller get profit, there are a lot of highroller who are busted, so it's possible they have an attack player that has fire but doesn't see if they are profit or busted, but that's beautiful the stake only sees fire = profit

its funny... the oposite is happening to me now....

Don't get me wrong but didn't understand what you said but i think i guess i understood a little bit . Some high rollers come into the chat is maybe because after a long time of hunting and they win they just want to chat.

Yeah, exactly! I've noticed it as well, what's the sense in doing it? probably, just showing off

1 for the money, 2 for the show, 3 for stake's coffers cuz they continue to grow! HRs that don't participate in general conversation, but post bets that incur large amounts of spam from the beggars are a disease to this place, imo. They don't care about the community, and that's fine, but it's abhorrent behaviour to dangle food in front of the poor. I find the sycophantic behaviour of the poor to be just as obnoxious. Most of it is in broken English because a large portion of the chat is comprised of 3rd world country inhabitants. Fuckin weird place, really. anyhoo

It does seems like there are some who do indeed like to get the flame just for attention lol. :o

I got the same as well, but unlike some high rollers I am active in chat if I have a flame but also when I am playing low or even dont play. But I noticed. if you see hi in the chat while having a flame you emmidiatelly receive response in chat from 10-20 people. If I come on site on a regular moment when not playing or not having a flame and say hi, I hardly get response.

But I do not mind. I know that at least 80% in chat just is around to find a way to get some free money. So its just something you have to deal with as a high roller from time to time.

What do you mean by fake flame ? Is there something we can buy or what ? Lol never heard of people getting fake flames until now.

I have thought this a million times and it's about time someone said something about it.    If your on fire and people start going nuts and it bothers you then stay the hell out of chat.   It's that simple.

if there was an option to hide your flame like hiding your name in bets that you made would be welcome.. the annoying and those who seek attention is the ones showing how much they are tipping individuals.. and gets mad when getting pmed..how hard is it to uncheck the box that says show tips in chat.. is it purposely done by the player or by accident forgetting to uncheck that.. v1 you have to ucheck since is checked automatically v2 is not check which means it was check on purpose..

In my opinion, this just comes with the territory and is part of the winning process. When you win, and have a flame l; don’t be mad that you are getting attention.   If you don’t want the attention than change to private.

some high rollers get off on this type of attention... they only complain so they don't let anyone know how they truly feel about the attention.

it is pretty annoying tho when the only time you get anyone sending friend requests is when you are on the high roller board.

People who are playing the victim role would rather feel justified in complaining about their unfortunate circumstances because it means that they don’t have to do anything about it. The good news, though, is that although there are unfavorable experiences in life, we have the choice to take action rather than be a victim to our circumstances. Those who choose to play the victim role do so because they’d rather complain than take action in order to change those circumstances or, at least change how they feel about their circumstances. Everyone is the victim of something. But not everyone chooses to behave with a victim mentality.
